Convenient, business-friendly Midtown hotel near Central Park, Broadway
The hotel's classically elegant exterior is a foil for the modern lobby. The lobby's black and white tiled floors and red accents provide a lounge-like atmosphere. A fitness center, restaurant, room service, concierge and theater desk enhance guests' comfort. Location

The hotel is across the street from Carnegie Hall, three blocks from Central Park and steps from Broadway. A short walk puts guests in the middle of the Theater District and Times Square. Fifth Avenue is two blocks east. Shops such as Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany and the Apple store are within walking distance. The Museum of Modern Art is about five blocks away.

Are you Kidding me? 4 Star???

I used to think that reviews were from picky complainers. I am a seasoned traveler who can roll with the flow, but.....Filthy bathroom with dirty floors, counter and towels. the drains didn't work. No heat control. Needed to open windows to be comfortable. No pen, no paper, no robes, no glasses in bathroom, housekeeping carts remained a permanent fixture outside the room throughout the stay. Shabby furniture, radio didn't work. Lobby artwork covered with dirt. Elevator walls and floors were dirty.Towels felt like sandpaper. Bedding and beds were ok. Location is good if you like a midtown base. Staff was fine. I will NEVER stay at this or any affiliated hotel again. What a sham!

The Museum of Art and Design (MAD) at Columbus Circle always has family accessible, interesting and manageable exhibits, beautiful gift shop and wonderful restaurant Robert on the 9th floor overlooking Columbus Circle. Reservation is a good idea.

Good central location but lacking

The hotel is very central -2 blocks from Central park one way and 2 to fifth avenue shopping the other. Currently the hotel is under renovation but this was not made clear on booking so the lobby and access corridors looked very tired and shabby. Also it was not made clear that the hotel was housing so many displaced familes after Hurricane Sandy and while I applaud their hospitality- I think it would have been fairer to contain them to a certain number of floors together - we had kids toys; buggies and parties into the early morning going on outside our room along the corridor.Not satisfactory when you pay approx $1300 for 3 nights accommodation for 2 people!

Great staff!

Ellen was fantastic.. The other lady working at check-in desk was super rude, but Ellen was great and she made the entire process faster and more efficient. The hotel has a great location, though it's a little old..

The location is awesome! I didn't expect that it could be so close to Time Square. It is so convenient to go everywhere.

I complain for the shower not working water was coming from the bottom very little from top it took long time to get a shower.

Very Comfortable

The staff was friendly and helpful and the room comfortable and clean. A good value in NYC but the room was lacking in amenities such as coffee maker or fridge but from what I understand is normal for NYC. The location was wonderful for access to Central Park and Times Square.

Great Location, great service, cannot fault the hotel.

On arrival no queue, to check in, the room was stunning, I had a corner room looking up to Central Park, could not have asked for more. Although the temperature was extremely warm for March, the heating did not work in the room.

First time in NYC

Location was great. The ice machine was broke on our floor our entire stay (4 days). When waiting for assistance at the front desk it looked like the staff was just standing around and you had to wait until they wanted to wait on you for assistance. Overall was a nice hotel and I would stay there again.
