AWFUL! Very rude people working there

The Park Central is in a very convenient place in New York. That is about it. The check in people were rude, the hotel operator was rude and no one seemed to be able to tell the truth about anything. They need to all get their stories together at the front desk. The air doesn't work properly at this hotel. We stayed out of the room as much as possible because when we were in it we were sweating! No one could tell us what the problem was.

No Air Conditioning in a New York Heat Wave

When we checked into the hotel they told us that the air conditioning wasn't working at full capacity but that they were working on it... When we got to our room it was so uncomfortable - there was a heat wave in June in New York City and there was no air conditioning. They told us it was at 80% capacity - but there was no cool air!! The staff never did anything about this - never apologized - never offered anything for our troubles. We found out from talking to other guests that the air conditioning hadn't been working for the past 4 days. While the location was wonderful - we will never stay at this hotel again.

Unhappy

The Park Central Hotel was not what we expected. We had to switch 3 rooms at check in which was very inconvenient as we had to continually bring luggage up and down the elevator back and forth to the check in lounge. The maids did not make up one of the 2 beds each day - why we do not know. There were no amenities such as soap, shampoo, conditioner for each day. Just a small supply the first day - so we had soggy soap for the whole trip. There was no coffee maker. The lobby decor was not inviting. The location was okay but the price was not for what we received. We would not go there again.

do not go

I was placed in the worst room, faced 4 walls, could not use my computer or cell phone in room! Hotel maid agreed...when complained and requested another room told all full for 2 days. Room small and bathroom inadequate lighting. Amenities vile.. dirty laundry carts in hall all day, maids pleasant but clearly overworked. Room service used trays left outside roooms for 24 hrs.

Very disappointing

The Park Central NY was very uncomfortable. The air conditioner was broken the entire 6 days we were there. Staff were told by manager to lie and say it was working, on our last day several of the workers informed me of this. It was very disappointing. About 10 other guests not including myself waited over 2 hours to speak with the manager before he would come out. It was very disappointing. I did not get what I paid for.

Very dissatisfied

After checking in, we went to our room. Found a mans dirty diaper in the trash can in the bathroom. Back to front desk requesting another room. we paid for a 'superior' room with a king bed. Was informed that there were no 'superior' rooms. Was given a different room. No king bed, no coffee maker. This time I went to the Guest Relations desk. Explained our disappointment. Because of the problem, we were give free breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast is approx 30.00 per person, so that was a good deal. Had to call front dest 2 times to get a coffee maker for our room. Room were small, our room was not vacuumed all week, had to ask for fresh wash cloths, coffee maker was not cleaned daily...Overall, was not at all happy with the housekeeping. They done just enough to get by...Thank you,,Warren and Chris Burch

Pretty horrible stay!

The facade of the hotel is STUNNING! But the inside has a bad modern, cheapy decor, with Motel 6 style rooms. The location is great, but the staff is horribly unfriendly and the room and sheets feel dirty. I wouldn't stay here again, ever!

Good location, bad everything else

The only good thing about this hotel is its location, but again, there are so many other choices of hotels with excellent location for the same price. The air conditioner was broken, they sent somebody to fix it, but the temperature was not cool enough; they insisted that the ac was fine. The safe was broken as well and we had to use the safe in the reception. They could not neither fix the safe, change it or simply find another room for us with ac in good working condition and a working safe. By the way, to have access to the safe in the lobby you have to stand in line and wait to be attended by a receptionist! The value of this hotel was very low compared to the high rates they charge. Will never return.
