Fine stay for the price

Hotel check in was efficient. Lobby was clean, had two restaurants. Room view looking out at walls/utilities. Room pretty clean. Bed not very comfy but felt safe and again pretty clean. I liked the location some good food options close and parking was close and pretty reasonable. Overall for the money I think a fine value. Maids and other staff were friendly so made the stay pleasant.

Bad service but at least it was clean

The hotel has a good location, unfortunately the service at the hotel is lacking. The front desk staff was rude on multiple occasions. As a bonus they charge for storing luggage even for guests. I would suggest looking somewhere else. Honestly,we prefer the Comfort Inn in the garment district.

Most aggravating experience in years

This hotel was dreadful. Upon arrival we were amazed to see 2 uniformed doormen talking to each other, as we struggled to get our bags out of a taxi and onto the sidewalk. They glanced at us, and resumed their conversation. Elevator system completely inadequate. We were on the 8th floor, the only way we could get out of this place was taking an elevator going up (to ensure a place when it was going down), which entailed going up to the 25th floor, and stopping at every floor on the way down to meet the glare of fellow travelers who could not conceivably fit in. No amenities, not even coffee in the room. The final irritant was the morning of check out-we wanted to get some coffee, but did not want to invest 25 minutes getting out for coffee only to have to go up and down again to get our bags and check out. We brought our bags down with us, checked out, and went to request bag storage for 15 minutes while we got coffee. A charge of $3.75, per bag, to store the bags, "even for 5 minutes" as it was explained to us. It doesn't get any worse.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The hotel is in a great location, and that is the reason I chose it. Otherwise the hotel is simply pathetic: 1) Most of the elevators did not work when I arrived and they still did not work when I left 5 days later. 2) The hotel is poorly kept. 3) The hotel is not very clean. 4) The front desk staff is not very helpful. 5) The type of amenities vary form one room to another (coffee maker and others). 6) When I got to my room there were no hangers in the closet and I had to make 3 phone calls and wait 3 hours to hang my clothes. 7) It was raining every day and the doormen were not helpful in getting a taxi. 8) The kiosks to print a boarding pass did not work. 9) Totally over prized considering all of the above.

Park Central has gone downhill!

We have always enjoyed our stays at the Park Central, but our last visit was several years ago. It has changed..., for the worse. It is dirty. It has mold on the bathroom shower tiles and ceiling. The bedside wall lamp was barely attached to the wall. The hairdryer in the bathroom was not attached to the wall, but the holes on the wall where it had been attached were still visible. The shower faucet was loose. They did not supply the small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, but did leave two small bottles of lotion. The staff was below average. The location is good. I would not stay here again.

So Disappointed

What a disappointment this hotel was! The [...]representative told me on the phone this was a 4 star hotel...not even close. The room was very small, the air conditioning did not work properly, the lampshade was stained all over with yellow spots, the paint around the door and base boards were pealing and filthy. The beds were okay. ..after the first night I realized my sheet had an old blood stain on it. I really wanted to change hotels but realized I was locked in because of my package deal with [...]...it was not cheap by any means. I would never stay at this hotel again!

New York, New York ! ! !

The hotel was very clean and spotless. All lifts were working properly as I have stayed in hotels where the lifts were always breaking down. Staff were friendly and helpful. One thig was the shower had a broken handle on the faucet but could still use it. Room & Bathroom was not as big as it looked in photo,s but was very comfortable. Wifi costs you $14 / night but in hotel website it just says (Internet fee $14). Apart from that you can go down to the cafes next door and get free internet there. Great location to walk to a lot of places, 5th avenue, Pentral Park, Empire State Building, Times Square and Broardway. For those going to see Statue of Liberty its just a walk across the street and catch the Letter "R" Downtown subway to Whitehall St South Ferry station. To get back to hotel, catch the Uptown "R" train back and get off at "57th St" station. 20 min ride, it couldnt be easier!

unbeatable location

We went to concert at Carnegie Hall, hence the perfect location.we were going to Carnegie Hall The doorman attempted to escort us into a Hotel car, instead of a nyc cab for our ride to tthe airport. We protested, because price was higher than cab, and he did not like that. It felt like he was pulling a fast one, especially since we don't think your hotel had a limo. big, white and dented. It wasn't pleasant. he chastised us.

Great location but old & run down

Great location but old and decaying a bit. Other guests seemed kind of "unhip". Kind of creepy too - long hallways, deserted.

Great location but otherwise marginal

The lobby was frenetic when I arrived; the alarm clock in the room was broken; the elevators painfully slow; some of the fitness center equipment broken; and the iron was scorched on the bottom. The worst was they charged me to store a bag for an hour when I went to lunch. To its credit, it's in a wonderful location. Not my favorite hotel in NY.
