Overview

Boasting vaulted arches above the entrance, the Park Central New York will make a grand first impression on you. With marble counters and pendant lighting fixtures, the modern interior design of the main lobby contrasts starkly with the brick exterior of this historic 31-story hotel built in the 1920s. When you stay at the Park Central New York, you can receive the same hospitality that high-profile guests such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Jackie Gleason have enjoyed over the years.

Location

Set on 7th Avenue in historic Midtown Manhattan, The Park Central Hotel is surrounded by New York City's theater district; world-famous performance center Carnegie Hall is right across the street and Central Park's tree-lined pathways wind around several landmarks nearby.

Think shopping and look no further than Macy's or Midtown Manhattan's famed 57th Street and 5th Avenue, or take a stroll to stumble across The Museum of Modern Art, Columbus Circle and the Rockefeller and Lincoln Centers.

Rooms

All 761 newly-renovated and plush guest rooms are equipped with 46-inch flat-screen televisions, and the option of internet access (fees apply). Guests will enjoy bath products from C.O. Bigelow, a writing desk, iron and ironing board, safe deposit box and hairdryer supplied in every room.

Highlights

Situated in Midtown Manhattan, the Park Central New York is within walking distance of Central Park, Broadway, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and a myriad of NYC's other top attractions. The multilingual concierge staff will also gladly help you purchase tickets to Knicks games or performances at Radio City Music Hall. At the Park Kitchen, you can enjoy a drink in the modern lounge or order continental dishes in the elegant dining room. Head to the Central Market to grab some sweets and beverages in the hotel's lobby. This grab-and-go kitchen serves products from popular local suppliers, like pastry chef Jacques Torres and Amy's Bread. At 7th Avenue Fitness, you can jump on the elliptical trainer or lift some free weights at any time of the day or night.

Fees

  • The hotel charges an increased mandatory resort fee of $25 plus tax per room and per night.  Amenities included in this fee are: high-speed Wi-Fi access in rooms and public areas, unlimited local, domestic long distance and international calls, luggage storage on arrival and/or departure up until 9 PM, and unlimited use of the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness centre.
  • Guests must be at least 21 years old to check in.
  • Rollaway bed fee is $75 per day.

Policies

If you have a question about the hotel facilities, or you want to book tours during your stay, the multilingual staff at the concierge desk can help. For just a daily facilities charge, you'll receive access to a 24/7 gym, luggage storage, unlimited phone calls, Wi-Fi for up to five devices and a free drink with a Park Kitchen entree.

Try Sara Beth's Central Park South, an eatery just next door, if you're looking for tasty but simple fare.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Dining

Central Market
Central Market, a fine foods grab-and-go, offers guests fresh and flavorful bites from artisanal New York vendors such as North Fork Chips, juices by Red Jacket Orchard, and chocolates by Jacques Torres, New Yorks Mr. Chocolate. In addition, Central Market also serves the best in delicious breakfast pastries, sandwiches, salads, coffee, Nespresso, and other enjoyable treats such as wine and beer to guests at our New York City hotel.
Park Lounge
Park Kitchen features an inviting lounge with two large communal tables, as well as an elegant dining area. Designed by Jeffrey Beers International, this beautifully designed space in the Park Central hotel presents a distillation of both new and traditional cocktail lounge.

Not what we hoped for.

Would not recommend Sat, Jan 9, 2016
Nice location, But with the exception of the very friendly gentleman who shorted us our transport to the airport the staff we talked to were mostly rude and unhelpful. One example being on return to one of our party's rooms at 5pm after a day out we found it had not been cleaned, we reported this and did not receive an apology just told this request for the room to be cleaned would be made, for a hotel charging $25 a day(plus tax!) for luxury I didnt know that you had to request such a service? Two small lifts for nine floors also inadequate 5min wait each time you need the lift. Dusty drafty room.

This was our first time to stay at Park Central. We were blown away by the experience. It's in the middle of everything. The place is beautiful and very clean. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was first class. The Staff at Park Central was friendly, knowledgable and eager to serve.

The hotel couldn't be better positioned for central park and time square...also really good for the BB bus with your family for the downtown/uptown tours.

Great location

Would recommend Tue, Dec 22, 2015
Hotel was very comfortable if a little dusty around the edges - minor issue for me as the important stuff such as bed and toilet were very clean. The location is amazing being so close to Times Square and Central Park as well as pick - up and drop - off points for bus tours. Would definitely consider staying again. Be warned though - there is an additional fee for 'facilities' (mine was $100 for 4 nights) on checking out.

Very good stay at Park Central. Got a great price - $629.00 for three nights, including the $25.00 daily resort fee. Perfect location, right across the street from the Premier Deli, Carnegie Deli and the subway.

Amazing trip

Would recommend Mon, Dec 14, 2015
The hotel was very central and I enjoyed my stay the rooms were comfortable and spotless, however the staff are not very helpful and not happy to answer any questions which lets the hotel down, this would not stop me staying again as the hotel itself was great, one thing I would add is that it would have been nice if the hotel had a restaurant and not just the express shop.

It has it's up and downs

Would not recommend Mon, Nov 30, 2015
To start with we were instantly downgraded to a smaller room because they overbooked even though I got the room months in advance. They changed us from 2 queens to 2 doubles and the girl claimed the room was bigger which I doubted and said that she would have a roll away bed sent up for my daughter which she never did and even if she did it would have never fit. She claimed to give us a $ 25.00 a day credit on some kind of tax and free breakfast for the three days we were there but I paid for that when we got the room, but there is no restaurant just a quicky place downstairs. The location is great on the upside. The downside there is no coffee makers and no restaurant. There are only 4 elevators for the 30 floors that they have so you have to wait for several elevators until you can get one that is not full so make sure that you are close to the ground incase you end up walking up and down the stairs which we did. Would I recommend it I would have to say no because of the downgrade that they gave us even though the room was booked months in advance I felt like we were given a bait and switch and the girl really made is sound like she was doing us such a favor which leads me to believe that they do this quite often. I do not know how if you give a smaller room with smaller beds which the customer pays for the room how that is fair. This in mind I would be check a couple of days before to verify what you pay for before you go.

Nice room/no amenities whatsoever

Would not recommend Thu, Nov 26, 2015
Okay folks, here it is. Our room was lovely, made up in a timely fashion and clean. However: You couldn't do anything about the sirens, street noise which kept us awake, but at least you could have put a coffee pot in each room. If one wanted coffee, downstairs for $3. That's ridiculous. There is not even a pen and paper at the desk. No breakfast. The $27 resort fee is also ridiculous and is so obviously a ploy to tack on more charges. We go to NY on a regular basis and decided to try your hotel. We will not be back . . . ever.
