Boasting vaulted arches above the entrance, the Park Central New York will make a grand first impression on you. With marble counters and pendant lighting fixtures, the modern interior design of the main lobby contrasts starkly with the brick exterior of this historic 31-story hotel built in the 1920s. When you stay at the Park Central New York, you can receive the same hospitality that high-profile guests such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Jackie Gleason have enjoyed over the years.

Location
Set on 7th Avenue in historic Midtown Manhattan, The Park Central Hotel is surrounded by New York City's theater district; world-famous performance center Carnegie Hall is right across the street and Central Park's tree-lined pathways wind around several landmarks nearby.

Think shopping and look no further than Macy's or Midtown Manhattan's famed 57th Street and 5th Avenue, or take a stroll to stumble across The Museum of Modern Art, Columbus Circle and the Rockefeller and Lincoln Centers.
Rooms

All 761 newly-renovated and plush guest rooms are equipped with 46-inch flat-screen televisions, and the option of internet access (fees apply). Guests will enjoy bath products from C.O. Bigelow, a writing desk, iron and ironing board, safe deposit box and hairdryer supplied in every room.

Highlights

Situated in Midtown Manhattan, the Park Central New York is within walking distance of Central Park, Broadway, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and a myriad of NYC's other top attractions. The multilingual concierge staff will also gladly help you purchase tickets to Knicks games or performances at Radio City Music Hall. At the Park Kitchen, you can enjoy a drink in the modern lounge or order continental dishes in the elegant dining room. Head to the Central Market to grab some sweets and beverages in the hotel's lobby. This grab-and-go kitchen serves products from popular local suppliers, like pastry chef Jacques Torres and Amy's Bread. At 7th Avenue Fitness, you can jump on the elliptical trainer or lift some free weights at any time of the day or night.

Fees
  • The hotel charges an increased mandatory resort fee of $25 plus tax per room and per night.  Amenities included in this fee are: high-speed Wi-Fi access in rooms and public areas, unlimited local, domestic long distance and international calls, luggage storage on arrival and/or departure up until 9 PM, and unlimited use of the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness centre.
  • Guests must be at least 21 years old to check in.
  • Rollaway bed fee is $75 per day.
Policies
If you have a question about the hotel facilities, or you want to book tours during your stay, the multilingual staff at the concierge desk can help. For just a daily facilities charge, you'll receive access to a 24/7 gym, luggage storage, unlimited phone calls, Wi-Fi for up to five devices and a free drink with a Park Kitchen entree.

Try Sara Beth's Central Park South, an eatery just next door, if you're looking for tasty but simple fare.

Excellent location

Great hotel in a great place. 5 mins from Central Park so great for a morning run. 10 mins from Times Square. Rooms great and quiet on a night. Modern gym with plenty of equipment. Plenty of places to eat right outside. The facilities charge is a bit steep if you don't/ cannot make use of it. Would be better if just within the standard room rate then you wouldn't feel you were paying extra!

COULD BE GREAT

The beds were comfortable in the rooms and the temp setting were good. However, the air conditioner leaked water all over the floor, there was mold in the corners of the shower, and our bathroom exhaust fan did not work. The hotel did offer a nice atmosphere in the lobby and the lounge was beautiful. There wasn't enough elevators in the hotel, so HINT-instead of pushing the down button push the up button. You may have to ride up ten floors, but at least you are not stuck on the 10th floor for 30 minutes waiting. This was the suggestion made by the cleaning staff, which by the way were the most helpful and friendly staff I've met in a LONG time. It's not too often you hear employee's singing while doing their job-AWESOME. We were not impressed with the long lines at check in and out's. We were already checked out and just needed to get our vehicle, yet we had to wait in the same line for over an hour. This in turn made us hit rush hourS of traffic. This I feel was unacceptable for the amount we paid for the room. So front end lobby needs HUGE improvement (luggage hold, check in/out, and vehicle reclaim) more staff during high traffic times would be smart. And last but not least...my daughter was verbally assaulted by a homeless man just outside of the hotel. He came inches away from physical assault and called her names I care not mention, because I am a Christian. This was an unprovoked attack that lasted three blocks. But it did start right at the corner of the hotel building. My daughter was scarred by this and was terrified of all homeless people the rest of the visit. This man was set off by her tie dye t-shirt. I personally want to thank two young New Yorker's that cheered for my teenage daughter after the man stopped his persute and encouraged her saying she didn't do anything wrong and she did good ignoring him and just walking. So, in short we did not feel safe, which is horrible for this hotel. This man slept on the south corner block of the hotel every night, next to the subway entrance. We tried to avoid that area the entire trip. So, at this time I would not advise this hotel as a good choice.

Fantastic hotel great value for money

The hotel was exactly what we wanted. The room was lovely and clean and the hotel staff were more than helpful. We have also re-booked this hotel for next year! The only draw back is there is no restaurant inside the hotel, but you don't really need it with times square a short walk down the road where you can find plenty of places to eat.

Three day getaway.

It is a great location for walking to the theater, museums, shopping, etc. My biggest negative is the elevators. There are only two and they are small. You have to set aside 30 min for a lift up or down. Not cool.
