Love the location, and the bar was cute and trendy. BUT the rooms are so tiny, and the bathrooms are the size of a postage ... stamp! The staff was a little pretentious...I guess you are supposed to expect that in NYC? ha! I will NOT stay there again when we visit the city.

I've stayed here over 20 times over the years and usually say the price and location are perfect. This time however, I was ... getting bitten by something, or was allergic to the bed. After the first night I thought it was me. my itchy bumps improved during the day. The second night I was a little worried, but didn't want the hassle of moving at 10pm so I stuck it out. What a mistake. I called the front desk manager at 3am. He was nice enough to speak to you guys and process a refund for the second night. on a side note: i had to change rooms within the first minute I got there too. the first room they gave me had a broken door that wouldn't lock. you could push it open without using a key.

The hotel is ver close to Times Square. Most of the NY attractions are walkable distance from the Hotel. If you need to go further you can take a ride from the subway station closeby. I never took a Taxi on the trip and travelling was still very convenient on foot and the subway.

Dream stay in New York
Road Trippin Oct 12, 2009
The best part of my stay at the Paramount was the location. A quick walk to the left of the hotel took me straight between ... Times Square and all attractions were at a walkable distance. To the right and little further was the pier and restaraunts offering cuisine from all over the world. Understandably being NY the rooms were a bit small, but quiet comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Bring your own Air Conditioning!
Tennis Man Sep 9, 2009
Hotel was in a great location and was clean. Air conditioning did not work. Our room averaged between 76 and 77 degrees, ... and REPEATED complaints did nothing to remedy the situation. We were given an uncaring "Sorry about that," from the front desk when we checked out. Room was small, but clean. Very weak water pressure and no cold water for the first 2 of our 3 day stay. Breakfast was very expensive! I do not recommend this hotel and will not return.

Great week at the Paramount
Brad Sep 8, 2009
Swift, friendly check-in. Got a great room, window overlooking 46th st. Room was larger than others we've stayed in at the ... Paramount, which was great! We'd thought that the hotel was going to be under renovation, but saw no signs of that. Service was excellent. Rooms very clean. Great location to head out into any area of the city. We saw shows, went to the US Open and ventured through most of the area below Central Park.

Avoid Times Square if you can. The new layout makes getting through and around it unbearable, unless you like annoying crowds. 8th Ave is getting worse as well.

Great Value
Learnmedia Sep 4, 2009
I really can't complain. I made my reservations about three months early and therefore was able to get the a special hotel ... renovation rate. The renovation that was taking place at the time I made my reservations was a much talked about issue that many other reviewers noted. The renovations were pretty much complete so I feel like I got a heck of a value given the location. I was upgraded from a twin to a full size bed for free. Rooms were clean... and small. European style small. But since I traveling alone and without much luggage (the closet was tiny) it was cool. However, I do have two gripes: 1. Housekeeping it could be more thorough. Moving in, there was a crumpled sock left lying on the carpet that shouldn't have been missed. Also there was hair in the shower. Not a good look. 2. Lighting the hotel is too darklobby, elevators, hallways. I understand they are going after a certain ambiance, and at night it sorta works, but in the middle of the day they need to brighten it up. Don't let my complaints fool you. I would stay there again. Service was great. And the room rate of 119.00 a night in a newly renovated hotel a block from Times Square was niiice.

Paramount/New York Trip
The Truth Sep 3, 2009
The hotel was still unconstruction but the concept utilized was great for a New York room - maximizztion of space. They ... maximized space in the rooms by not having a chest(Drawers) and teh television was on a board which was againist the wall. Space in the bathroom was maximized which was great. The rooms were comfortable, as was the bed. It would of been nice to have a coffee pot with coffee available, but there was a nice coffee shop downstairs which comparatively speaking was priced according to the area. The location of the hotel was great - theater district and in the middle of New York. I would recommend this hotel again, but the front desk had us waiting since 10:00 am for our rooms. We did not receive a room until 2:45 pm. I understand rooms were not to officially be ready until 3:00 pm, but there were other people who arrived after we did which were given rooms. Not until I began writing did the front desk suddenly appear with a room.

The street the hotel is on, 46th street, is also considered Restaurant Row. A block to the east of the hotel is everything you could want in choice of a restaurant. They all have their menus displayed outside and the prix fixe meals are usually more than you can eat for half the price.

There were a number of 'buffet' type of corner joints that had fresh fruit and other things like Italian, of Chinese, depending on the place, that charge by the ounce. Load up and take it back to the room for a quiet, inexpensive dinner.
