Great location and value

On The Avenue was definitely a great find in New York City. The room was a good size and well worth the money, especially considering other options in the area. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. I was able to walk out the front door and have plenty of things to do within walking distance, and there was convenient subway access only a block away. The room itself was very comfortable. I slept great in the bed and there was plenty of space for all of the things I brought and bought! I will likely stay there again upon my next trip to New York.

Great Business Amenities

I found my room very up to date in styling. The bathroom was clean and functional. The TV was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only complaint and this is to all hotels who continue to charge for DSL connections to customers is that this should be a free service today. I think in this day and age. All hispeed should simply be a service included for business travellers. It leaves the impression of being nickled and dimed if you need the extra $10/day then raise the room rates.

My review of On the Ave Hotel

Great modern hotel in a residential area. The room was just the right size. I travelled with my daughter..although we arrived at noon, we had our room immediately which was a great surprise. The bed was very comfortable and we had a flat screened tv. I loved the location because I was trying to get away from Times square..I wanted a area where I can get my supply of bottles of water and other snacks, but I really wanted to see less tourists and more the residents. I was not disappointed; I saw lots of kids and dogs. It was very convenient location, I mainly took the bus because of the view...the M104..it was always busy and lively and I enjoyed it much more than the subway.. One day we walked towards Central park; it is only a couple of blocks away and we went to visit the Natural History museum which was a real treat.

Great breakfast place accross the street. I particularly enjoyed the bagel eggs sandwich. Also on Broadway street, a supermarket open 24 hours a day . Great choice of prepared food. After a long afternoon of walking, we enjoyed a a great fruit salad from that market.

Great for the neighborhood

On the Ave was stylish, in a great location for our visit, quiet, had dining options nearby, near Central Park, two blocks from the right subway, interesting shopping. The room was bigger than expected -- actually had room to walk around. I would definitely stay again.

Go one block east to Amsterdam for the most of the restaurants in the area -- they're not on Broadway. But Ruby Foo's, almost next door, is great, though a little $$.

My review of On the Ave Hotel

We have stayed at the OTA many many times for weeks at a time. We love the room... the beds are always very comfortable as are the bathrooms. The shower is wonderful and in the rooms we have had spacious and very clean. The hotel is centrally located and very close to the subways. The bellman has always immediately got a cab for us when needed. The only few hassles we had were the business center is the size of a closet and though we always have our laptops with us... trying to get documents printed can be a real challenge. On a longer visit than this one we had to request a change of sheets... though it happened over a few days during the holidays and when we requested fresh sheets they immediately had housekeeping up. All and all it is a wonderful hotel with a great ambiance and we will return every chance we can.
