Stay away, under renovation and not worth the cost
Stayed at the hotel before, rated it highly. Being rebuilt - building work everywhere. No food, no minibars, unhappy guests. Stay away until finished! Not value for money at the moment

Great Location
Perfect central location, great for getting all around New York. Room had a fantastic view of Times Sq. Some aspects of the hotel a little bit dated, but overall very happy with my stay.

a relaxing weekend
This was a getaway weekend to relax and catch a few Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The loctaion was great. Nice room with a great view. Theatres and restaurants are within walking distance.

Hotel Novotel time square
I went in the famous spot.(time square,Museum,Statue of Liberty etc...) at each time i was greating poeple at the front desk poeple do not seem very concerned.. the valet guys wich was working there during the morning shift was very friendly and helpful. gave me information about the city and help with my luggages, the concierge desk and poeple there were very professional and gave me a bunch of precious informations... I appreciated that.. I'll be back if I can..

Great Location - Rooms So-So
Was in for a short weekend visit. This was my first stay at this hotel. Was it great? Clearly not. Was it ok, and in a great location - Yes. The lobby and commmon spaces are very nice. The hotel rooms themselves need to be upgraded, and the hallways. Too dirty, but probably have been very much used. Bathroom clearly needed updating. There was a water damage leak in my room - on the ceiling. Oh, and there was a mystery stain on the chair by the desk?? Ick. Staff was friendly and I really wasn't in the room all that much to care about it. So, would I stay there again?? Maybe..but I bet the Hampton Inn, just down the street would probably be nicer.

Very nice hotel
The Novetel hotel is a very nice place. It is actually one of the better hotels that I have stayed in. The bathroom was definitely one of the larger ones that I have had in a New York hotel. The room was a good size and had 4 or 5 very good sources of light for reading. I also couldn't hear the people next door. The room had a mini-bar which I don't like or use because of the high prices. It also didn't have a mini fridge which I would have preferred. I arrived at 2:30 and my room wasn't ready although check in time is actually at 4:00 so I can't really complain. Although this is the first time that I have arrived at a hotel within 2 hours of check-in and the room wasn't ready. And some people arriving at 4 were told their rooms weren't ready. The check in staff were also very, very slow. The concierge was very, very helpful although they could often have used 2 of them. The maids were also excellent.

There are lots of bars and restaurants within 2-3 blocks that were excellent. A few definite bargins. It is close enough to theaters to walk to them but far enough away that the area isn't very crowded. Transportation and shopping are also nearby.

OK but not great
The Novotel New York was comfortable and well-located, and the staff was fairly helpful. The room was good but the dining options were limited and overpriced. An annoyance was the extra charge for high-speed internet; I used dial-up as a cheaper but slower option. Overall, reasonably good but nothing to write home about.
