Awesome Stay
We had a wonderful stay. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable when questioned about attractions and tourist areas. They were chearful and prompt. The hotel does not offer a ton of amenedies however it has a great location and is clean and quiet. Your here to see New York not the inside of the room(which was great witha good view) I would recommend to anyone that asked.

Great Girls Getaway
Although the hotel is dated, the rooms are clean and large, and the kitchenette is an added bonus. It is hard to beat the location for the neighborhood feel, it is close to the action, but far enough away for peaceful relaxation. If you are not in walking distance to most venues, taxis are plentiful and the subway is two blocks away. There are many local restuarants, markets and stores within walking distance making the location perfect.

GOOD CENTRAL LOCATION.
The purpose of our visit was to attend my niece's wedding over the weekend. Arrived late evening (2330 hrs local) reception very helpful. Concierge -Polish man helped us up to the room1106 front of building. Some noise experienced early mornings which is to be expected as the city wakes up. Room very clean and comfortable for our needs-kitchete with tea and coffee provided. King sized bed comfortable. Bathroom more than adequate-clean. If you like US tv it was there to watch on a 32 screen. Wifi was available in the room at a cost of $8.99 per day. However, was for free in the small lobby in reception. One of the lifts was out of action due to refurbishment-some waiting-no problem really. I would recommend and use this hotel again.

A nice place to stay, personal.
Again a nice place to stay. Walking distance to nice Restaurants, Grand Central Station, Shopping, etc. Every thing in the room was nice the mattress could have been a liitle more comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent, front desk was great, good with directions, and suggestions. If ever in New York again I would stay there.

Perfect for short breaks sightseeing
Very good. We were upgraded to a bigger room and had 2 queen beds, a large lounge with dining area, good size bathroom and kitchenette with dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker and fridge-freezer. The kitchenette cupboards are shabby but everything was perfectly clean and great to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing.A few minutes walk to Grand Central Station, the UN, Macys etc and not far from a good supermarket.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Don't use the corner store for groceries - it's very expensive. The supermarket is only a few mintues further away on 42nd/3rd and much cheaper.

Despite staying when Sandy hit it was good
Although we had no water/power for most of our stay due to Sandy, thank goodness this place was in a good location. The staff tried their best in diffiucult circumstances to help us and the location was excellent - especially as there was no transportation most of the time and so we were walking - could get to most places due to the central location. Great, but not luxurious accomodation.

Great breakfast diner which sadly was closed for much of our stay due to Sandy - think it was called "tony's" - it was a small Italian owned restaurant
