Fun in New York

Great stay in a not widely advertised but great stay in the city. It is well situated for all of the theater District and great restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities. It has the kind of focus on comfort seen in European hotels. It is well worth the stay and definitely worth the cost. Other hotels in the area are far more pricey and far less comfortable.

Short Business Trip

This hotel was fantastic!! The staff almost tripped over themselves to be helpful, the room was sparkling clean, as was the common areas. The room was HUGE by New York City standards, and large by any other standard. The location is ideal, near theaters, Times Square and Rockefeller Center, yet nary a problem with undue noise. The only insignificant inconvenience is the in-house restaurant. It is extremely small and the wait staff is nowhere near efficient. My business companion and I announced that we were two for dinner one evening and were seated. One of the wait staff came over immediately ,took and delivered our drink order, then almost literally disappeared. After waiting a full 30 minutes, we paid for our drinks and left the hotel for another restaurant for dinner. In addition, the restaurant's portions are very small, compared to the price charged.

Staff are friendly but not gushy, the elevators a always available and fast, the rooms are well appointed and very quiet. Televisions are outdated and $12.99 for wifi is crazy. I was unaware that there was a charge until I checked out; that make me look for free wifi hotels.

Enjoyable Stay

I spent 3 nights at this hotel in August 2010, my first time. Upon arrival, I was told that we were upgraded to a larger studio room and could be upgraded to a suite at a modest charge, which i accepted. We ended up in a beautiful suite that was remodeled recently. Truly worth the charge. The staff is great. Everyone is eager to help. They provide a nice European breakfast in the morning, which i enjoyed. No need to stand in line at Starbucks. Location is perfect: On the corner of 7th avenue and 51st. You're in the middle of everything in Midtown. One negative: Fitness Center is not really great, but you could walk around town to get a great workout.
