Small comfortable atmosphere

Overall, it was a good experience. Not crowded, beautifully decorated. The lighting in our room was very dim. Lamp very dim; very hard to see what was in the closet. The light by the vanity kept going on and off every few seconds, and left us in the dark while we were combing our hair or putting on makeup or whatever there. The cold water would not turn off easily, had to use excessive force to stop running water. Aggravating. Couldn't control the amount of water coming out either. Rm. 328, I think, at very end of a hallway. There were croissants and scones for breakfast but no jelly or butter, just dry bread. I think a 5 star hotel should be better than this was.

Nice hotel in the middle of the theater district

We had a wonderful time and the hotel is right in the heart of the theater district. The Hotel is very nice the staff very helpful. I would have given the hotel all 5's except for the fact there was no coffee maker in the room. I am a person who like to get up, make the coffee in the room and read the paper before getting dressed. To get coffee or tea you had to get dressed, take the elevator down 7 floors to the continental breakfast room, juggle 3 cups of coffee (2 for me and 1 for my wife) back up 7 floors. For this reason we will not stay at the hotel again. I find it hard to believe that if a 2 star hotel can provide coffee for you in their rooms, then a 5 star hotel should be able to do the same. By the way, you could order coffee from room service for $18 a pot plus service charge and tip. Nice "gig".

Overpriced for a 5-Star

The room and location was fine; no complaints there. However; the lobby bar and restaurant setup/layout was the worst I'd ever seen. They were right next to the check in desk, right out in the open. Neither had any ambiance whatsoever, to the point we wouldn't ever try them.

Imagine ... no tea table in 4 star hotel room ~~?

We loved this hotel because of its spacious and clean room, nice staffs, and LOCATION, etc. BUT on the second time, the room located in very rear, small, no tea table in the room, no pocket door in the middle of bathroom. We loved to have cocktail at the loundge, enjoyed shopping and many things, BUT we were VERY DISAPPOINTED AT BEING in that room.

great experience.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Quality was not quite what I expected for 4 star hotel. carpets were on the edge of needing replacing. Garbage truck woke us up with it's whining lift. Staff was great, very friendly. Location could not have been better. We went to Statue of Liberty with subway access only a blk away. Bus tour was half a blk from hotel. Restaurant row was only a couple of blocks away. Rockefellar Center was easy walking distance and Sax Fifth Ave. Lots of Broadway shows within walking. New Yorkers were friendly and great help with directions. Cops on every corner, but didn't see any problems. Had a great time. Would stay there again. Conceire was very helpful. Would have liked in room frig and coffee maker. Continental brkfast was lacking. Beds were very comfortable.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are many great restaurants in New York but the best deal was right next door to our hotel. Not only was it convenient but the food was fabulous and probably the "best deal" in town. Staff were friendly and made us feel right at home in a big city. Highly recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House.
