Intimate, European-style boutique hotel in the Theater District
This intimate, European-style hotel is a contrast to its surrounding neighborhoods -- the showy and loud Theater District and Times Square. Where Midtown Manhattan is big and loud, the Mayfair New York Hotel is cozy and understated. Amenities include a business center and around-the-clock concierge service. Special touches such as fresh flowers in the rooms are unexpected in a property of this size.

Mayfair is Good, Inexpensive Broadway Hotel

The Mayfair is the best place for someone who comes to New York to see Broadway shows. It is conveniently located, and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and it is far less expensive than a variety of other hotels in the area.

Overnight Stay

I had to stay overnight around the Times Square area and didn't want to get robbed (well both in terms of neighborhood safety and what I'm shelling out for NYC accommodations). This place fit the bill. Awesome location, split second proximity to all the geographic goods, and quiet (good for sleeping) at least when I stayed. I'd recommend it to anyone on a budget in need of a place to crash overnight.

Winter Broadsway Getaway

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and it does not disappoint. The location is perfect for Broadway/Times Square and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. There is now a restaurant on site as well as numerous dining choices nearby. The rooms are small, mine had a shower only-no tub. Free wireless internet, flat screen TV, and guest computers in the lobby are useful amenities. No coffee in the room but there is a coffee shop at the corner of 49th and Broadway a few steps away. The concierge was helpful as well. Great stay as always.

The theater for Book of Mormon is located next door if you are quing for returns and Chicago is playing just down the street. TKTS for discounted theatre tickets is at 47th and Broadway, 2 blocks away.

Watch out for the $4/day surcharge

Found an extra $4 charged to my credit card after I came home from my (prepaid) stay. When I called the hotel, they explained it was a fuel surcharge "because gas and oil are so high." Would have been nice to know this ahead of time.

A sweet and cozy, but old hotel

This hotel has a lot of charm but needs some renovating. The room itself was very small, but not a problem if you are traveling solo. There was something about this cute little hotel that was very nice and homey while traveling in NYC. Although I rated only 3 stars, I would definitely recommend this place if it was going for a good price (under $100/night).

West End Grill down the street has awesome food for a good price, not crazy expensive like EE grill across the street from hotel.

Good for those who just wants a place to sleep

It is extremely well located in the heart of NYC. It doesn't get any better. However, the place is old, there is no luxury at all. The room is just a bed with some little space to get to the bathroom, wich is decent.The staff was pretty polite too.It's for those who just wants a place to sleep, and nothing else...
