Won't Stay Anywhere Else

First time at the Library and I won't stay anywhere else in the future. The staff is friendly (all of them!), the room comfortable and nicely appointed. The breakfast bar is so good and a great way to save money. As is the wine and cheese at 5pm and coffee/water/sweets provided all day. Just a wonderful wonderful hotel.

Outstanding !

We had a wonderful stay! We have never felt so pampered. You offer so many personal touches and seemed to anticipate our needs. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast and the wine and cheese reception every night was an extremely pleasant way to begin our day and unwind in the evening. The themed rooms are fun. We also enjoyed the 14th floor with reading room and the delightful outside garden area. My husband's physician recommended the Library hotel and we plan to send him a thank you note! Many thanks for making our NYC vacation memorable. Nancy and Don Olson

Library Hotel- great service

The hotel featured a great location in the Manhattan by Grand Central Station, but the rooms were very small and not very well appointed compared to other 3-star and 4-star hotels I have stayed in on previous trips. Exceptional service and a great outside deck/ bar/ reading room on the roof. I think this hotel could offer more competitive pricing for the size of the rooms and other amenities. Finally, the service staff was very warm and helpful.

A great find!

This hotel really understands the term "hospitality". The continental breakfast spread was quite expansive and delicious and was serviced by two very pleasant and capable staff members. It even included fresh cappuccinos or lattes and newspaper choices. The wine and cheese reception every evening was equally nice. I was surprised that few guests thought to tip at either of these very nice daily events.Had they gone across the street to Starbuck's for a latte and muffin the bill would have been $6 - still no tip to this pleasant and friendly staff? I also liked that they cleared and cleaned the tables quickly and so thoroughly. Bed turn down at night included chocolates and bottled water was complimentary in the room. Around the corner from Grand Central and walking distance to theaters, Bryant Park, 30 Rock, the Empire State and more. Perfect location. I will definitely go back to this hotel. The room was exactly as described and shown in the pictures on their site - small but adequate and very clean. I really liked this spot.

noisy nights and sunday morning

i was visiting the town for my business and had some tours of pubs and clubs at nite. The problems comes from the bad sound insulation. The windows are really not sound proof and the door as well. you can hear the garbage trucks and the city noise for the whole time you stay there. it is really hard to get a rest. the TV is really small and the quality of the picture is bad. Sunday morning was the worst as i wanted to have a rest from the night before. But no luck, the Iranian Parade was planned. Of course, nobody has prevented me. I had to change the pickup from the taxi to the airport and i could not have my rest. Nobody at the reception was interested and i did not get any discount.

Highly recommended

I've stayed in 5 different hotels all over Manhattan. This one by far has been my best experience. Comfortable beds, nice decor, very clean, good bathrooms, even the small rooms are very roomy for New York, and how can you go wrong with complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary wine & cheese?
