Lovely Hotel in Mid town Manhatten

We were greeted by very friendly staff. Our check in was quick and stress free. Our room was spotlessly clean and well decorated and furnished. A lovely big walk in closet with iron and ironing board and extra bedding. Facilities were excellent with an in house business centre and gift shop. The restaurant was very pleasant and served delicious food. We were situated at the back of the hotel and heard no traffic noise at night, which is a great bonus. The bed was huge and the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The room temperature was easy to control and the bathroom always well stocked with provisions.

When in NYC you must try the dining experience of Eataly located at 200 5th Ave. There are 27 Eataly stores in the world 10 of which are located in Italy. Down the street is ABC Carpet and Home, a NYC icon. Happy Travels

Great stay

We stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay at mid town east. It was close to Times Square and we walked to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the theater district, shopping on 5th avenue. The staff was helpful with suggestions on restaurants. We would stay here again.

wonderful location

This hotel is in a wonderful location, close to tour buses, grand central Station and 5th Avenue. The hotel was clean and the lobby was always nicely decorated. However check in was a lengthy process. We had to wait over 15 to 20 minuets to check in as there was only one person on duty, and a long line of people waiting. When we asked if there could be someone else to help we were told NO there was no one else!! We got there in the morning and were only able to check in to our room after 3.30 pm but they did let us place our suitcases in a secure room. The basin in our room did not drain properly, we did mention this but it took until our last day to be fixed. This holiday was over the New Year weekend, so perhaps that is why we had these problems. otherwise we were happy with the amenities and hotel it self.

The hop on hop off tour buses are a wonderful way to get to see the sights, they stop right around the corner from the hotel. This hotel is close to Times Square, Grand central Station and 5th Avenue

Barclay NY - It's all about the staff

The Barclay is well situated for enjoying mid-town Manhattan. The facility is solidly mid tier, 4 stars is a bit of a stretch. I was very impressed by the service, from concierge (11 Madison Park reservations) to the bell Captain and doormen I received 5 star treatment.

Very nice, convenient place to stay

Loved the location and the hotel is very elegant and quiet. The only negative is that several lights in the room did not work and the basic electrical installation was flawed. The light switch at the door controlled most of the lights in the room, so in order to turn off the bedside reading light we had to get out of bed, walk to the main switch at door to turn it off, then return to the bed in the dark.
