Good price and location but too loud

Hotel was LOUD! I was at the end of the hall but throughout the night people were knocking hard on other doors and banging. Bed was comfortable but not a good nights sleep!

Winter in NYC

Look, the rooms are small, but the location is great. And the staff at both the front desk and the concierge station was phenomenal. Amenities in the room were old. There was a small tube tv, a phone with a cord by the toilet that looked like it was installed at least 2 decades ago, and no outlet by the bed (I have a CPAP that has to be plugged in at night... the friendly staff got me an extension cord.) Nonetheless, we were in the room for nothing but sleeping, so none of that mattered. If you are looking for updated features and large, comfy areas, then the standard rooms at the ICBarclays are not for you. But for location and a great staff, this place was on point.

Awesome stay

The hotel is perfectly positioned for a tourist in Manhattan. The rooms look a little bit dated but the staff keeps them clean and tidy. All of the staff were exceptional. The price was really good as well.

Home away from home

Felt totally at ease from the moment we walked in. Friendly staff, clean well appointed room (although bathroom could use a bit of modernizing). Close to subways and great restaurants. Great value for money. Will return.

NOT RECOMMENDED

I understand it's NYC, but for 400$ a night, you expect AT LEAST a free parking to the hotel and a free swimming pool. In fact I paid 400$ for a room that is on the small side, averagely clean, with nothing special in it, plus i paid 70 $ for parking. Too much. For this price you can have a suite with a jacuzzi in it and in bed breakfast in a fine hotel. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Beautiful hotel in midtown

we have recently made the intercontinental our hotel of choice wherever we travel and the ic Barclay does not disappoint. We were in town for the us open and the hotel was well prepared with directions to transportation, information, etc. Fabulous martinis in the lobby bar! Downside: I'm a club member, and was offered a room upgrade and late checkout, but as far as I could tell, there was no club level. I could be wrong, and we wouldn't have been able to take much advantage of it anyway, but it's always nice to enjoy the club level at other ic properties. Also, we had to pay $8.95 for 15 minutes of Internet access in the business center and an additional $1.35 to print a b&w page. You can, however, print boarding passes for free. All in all, highly recommended if you don't need to be in the middle of the hustle & bustle...it's about a 10 minute walk to times square.

Classic & Elegant Stay, GREAT Service!!

We stayed as family, one small toddler girl for two nights on weekend. The hotel has excellent service with professional manners and friendly care to both adults and for a child. The room was classic setting with nice single cup making coffee maker, amenities helped our grooming needs well, and entire hotel hall was quiet and smelled nice flower aroma! We LOVED their breakfast beffet; all organic ingredients and fresh food yet, elegant presentation. The restaurant staffs were all professional, elegant and friendly. The location is great and all near by nice & elegant Park Ave for business needs, Madison Ave & 5th Ave for shopping. A few taxies were always waiting in the front entrance for the guests convenience and bell service was professional. We LOVE to come back to THE BARCLAY InterContinental hotel for everything we need in NYC next time!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Nice, upscale yet convenient walking distance restaurants are in Midtown East on Park, Madison and 5th Ave! But during the spring/summer, for gentlemen, refrain from your shorts and sandals for some elegant Frensh/Italian restaurants/cafes. They have dress code - no shorts.
