Great value for money
We were pleasantly surprised with a hotel. Room were clean and tidy, with little kitchen, air-conditioning, numerous wardrobes and a safe. You can use wi-fi (not included in the price) in a room or PC in the entrance hall. The hotel is situated 2 min. walking from a subway and 3 min. from local shops and there are also restaurants and take aways around. Would definitelly come again.

Value the Price
The hotel has a good and safety location, is very close to the subway and has some restaurants, stores and supermarkets near around. The hotel is kind of old but the facilities were ok. It values the price that you are paying for, as NY is not a cheap city. I would recommend if you are really interested in knowing NY and not the hotel. Dont expect that the hotel facilities are new, because it is old. Erica

Buy the Metrocard, it really values it if you are staying some days. Also think in gettting a NYC City Pass, if you are interested in some of the atrractions listed.

You get what you pay for
Not a bad location, but the quality of the room was disappointing, the cleaning crew clearly did not vacuum on a daily basis, and the hallway on the 9th floor smelled so foul that I actually bought febreeze to spray every night I came back to the room. I would stay there again if the price were about a third of what I paid.

Nice, clean room and great location
Hotel Imperial is just 2 blocks from subway station, 10 minutes to Times Square. You can shop for food and drinks around. Very nice and clean room, comparing to other low budget hotels in Manhattan. Helpful staff. I only missed free wifi, you have to pay for your internet connection at Imperial Court

My 2nd stay at this Hotel in two years,
Keyless door entry system failed on two separate occasions leaving me locked out of my room late at night for extended period(1+ hours). Couldn't access presciption, lavatory or any water. Company who manufactered locks is being sued because a large magnet can bypass the lock. See NY Times this past week. No compensation was forthcomming for my troubles. Desk clerk declined to personally assist me. After complaining about this issue I returned another evening to find my door ajar. Apparantly housekeeper failed to secure my door after making bed. She did however remember to leave an envelope for me to deposit gratuity. One more thing, the hairdryer heater in bathroom was defective, it kept on tripping breaker. No way to warm up after a shower. BBrrrrrrr. You want it fixed when? Never right now when I need it. Previous stay was no better. I paid extra to have a private bathroom but noisy neighbors and buzzing whirling refrigerator robbed me of needed sleep. In comparison the Howard Johnson out in Roanoke Va adjacent to airport has quieter rooms 3 times the size at a third the cost of Imperiel Court with amenities that actually worked. Whats Imperiel about the Imperiel hotel? Had I not needed to be close to reletive I would have gone elsewhere.

Very good value hotel
For the price this was an excellent value hotel. The location was superb, near a subway so you could return to your hotel anytime to recharge your batteries. The little kitchen area was useful so you could heat up food in the microwave. Zabars deli on the corner of 80th and Amsterdam Ave was brilliant. The rooms were cleaned every day and the hotel was quiet. We loved New York and would definitely return to this hotel

Imperial Court OK but lacking services
Passive aggressive front desk (main person).Request for room with better outlook not taken well at check-in (in fact the room had security issue of windows not locking - which was disbelieved until i had staff member visit room). Even though around 12-20 rooms vacated each day, had to follow-up several times next day to get higher floor then told that, even if you wish to, one move is all you get. Bathrooms new and good. Cost of wifi high.
