Dining

Metro Grill
The Metro Grill serves lunch and dinner M-F, dinner only S-S. Our bar and cocktail lounge are open until 11:00pm Sun-Thur, and 12:am F-Sat.
Rooftop Bar
The roof terrace is open seasonally for our guests during most daytime hours. During the evenings, weather permitting, a bar that is also open to the public operates and while guests are certainly welcome, they need to make reservations with the restaurant for a table. On rare occasions the roof is booked as a party space and access can be limited or restricted during those periods (usually just a few hours per event).

Great small hotel

Warm comfortable hotel in Herald Square area. Friendly staff. Mainly European guests. Small but comfortable room with a really good bed. Very nice experience compared to other boutique hotels in New York. Highly recommended. Nice continental breakfast, which is free.

Value Defined

For a first time trip to NYC (trying to save money for shopping) this hotel could not have been better. I was memorized by the city, and this hotel was a fabulously-located, 5-star safe haven for my boyfriend and I after long days exploring and shopping. The rooftop bar, the staff, the oddly delightful view... It was just classy enough for the price.

Luggage storage place on 355 W 36th St; a few blocks away. Perfect for checking out at 12, then having someplace to store your heavy bags while you go shop more! #cashonly

Great location!

The Hotel Metro was great! It's location is fabulous; it's by tons of restaurants and shopping. Checking in took a while, but we didn't have any other complaints. Also, the rooftop is fun!

Solid Deal in Midtown

I spent one weekday night in this hotel because it was conveniently located and quite a bit cheaper than similarly rated competition. I was a bit nervous due to the low price tag, but everything turned out great. The hotel was easy to find and well lit, the staff was friendly and fast, and the room was clean, quiet, and had the usual amenities. The room was tiny as expected (it is new york after all), but had decent closet space and good air conditioning. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in midtown and wants a solid deal.

Very nice hotel

My overall experience at this hotel was great. The staff was friendly, room clean and well kept. I love the location. Minutes away from Penn Station. There's only one issue I had and it was the pent house (PH# level. This is where you can sit out on the roof top deck #which I loved), workout at the gym and grab a bucket of ice. The problem is GETTING to the PH! Of the two elevators, only one of them went to the PH. The other option is to take the elevator to the 12th Floor, then walk up a flight of stairs to the PH??!! Plus, why is the ONLY ice machine on the PH? Gosh, it should at least be located on ground level where no one has to go through the hassle of traveling to the PH level. Other than that, its a really nice hotel.

Great location

Room was clean but small. A little bit noisy because of the air condition fans outside of the hotel. Few breakfast alternatives but it was enough for us. Close to subway. Overall nice hotel.

Nice stay, great location.

No complaints about this hotel...in fact, it has a lot to offer at a decent price. Free bagels and cereal, 1/2 block from subway, quiet room, noon checkout. Staff was friendly, and we were able to leave our bags there after checkout as we walked around. This will be the first place I check for my next Manhattan stay.

Received a nice welcome and upgrade at the start and staff were all very friendly Hotel restaurant is great and free breakfast in the morning quite adequate Was worried here might be a lot of noise given location so proximate to Herald Square but it was amazingly quiet and I got a good nights sleep. Recommend for many types of travelers.

Hotel was great... Restaurant not so much!

The hotel was great! We even got upgraded to a bigger room. When asked if we needed to make reservations to the restaurant for dinner we were told no, just walk in. We did just that and they were full so stuck us in a back room. Gave us water in a cracked glass. Never brought us bread, filled up our water. Pretty much took our order and never saw anyone again. Horrible experience and a disappointment since we were all dressed up for a show and don't get out much.
