Dining

Metro Grill
The Metro Grill serves lunch and dinner M-F, dinner only S-S. Our bar and cocktail lounge are open until 11:00pm Sun-Thur, and 12:am F-Sat.
Rooftop Bar
The roof terrace is open seasonally for our guests during most daytime hours. During the evenings, weather permitting, a bar that is also open to the public operates and while guests are certainly welcome, they need to make reservations with the restaurant for a table. On rare occasions the roof is booked as a party space and access can be limited or restricted during those periods (usually just a few hours per event).

Ideal location for tourists

The Hotel Metro was very clean & comfortable, large bed also desk and chair, + easy chair, TV and good wardrobe space. Window air conditioner which was a bit noisy, The location was very central, almost next door to the Empire State Building and within easy walking distance to Macy's department store also the subway which we used several times. Two elevators, one was out of service so we were allowed to use the service elevator, no problems there. The Continental breakfast was very good, ham, eggs, cheese, yogurt, three kinds of bread + different varieties of bagels and spreads also orange juice, coffee, tea & hot chocolate all of which never ran out. There is also a roof terrace, however it was being repaired so unfortunately we were not allowed to use it The hotel also has a restaurant and bar. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a good restaurant across the road and a Korean restaurant next door also an Irish Pub just up the road. The hotel staff suggested an excellent lunch cafe in the next street. Macy's department Store is within easy walking distance.

Great Service

The Hotel Metro was very accommodating to my needs. The room was incredible. Bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast came with the room and the atmosphere was very lovely and homey! If I chose to pay New York prices again, I'd definitely chose this place again.

Great Location!

The location of Hotel Metro was fabulous! Walked to Macy's, Times Square, theatre district, etc. Macy's & Empire State Bldg. were nearly next-door. Parking was about 3 buildings down, & reasonable with the Hotel Metro discount. There's coffee & tea 24 hours, & free breakfast (muffins, etc.), if interested. Front desk is VERY helpful. Much closet space in room, with iron & board, safe, very comfortable bed & pillows. It was quiet. Rooftop was not open, but supposedly a great cafe up there in season, with a view! Fitness center up there also, but we didn't go to NYC to spend time in the hotel! The room itself & bathroom were very clean--good shower, nice product in bath. Also a restaurant on the premises, but we weren't around at dinner time to use it. Public transportation is right there, as well. We would definitely go back!

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

We often eat in Macy's(basement)restaurant. There's also a great little place, Speedy, 2 blocks south, in the center of an intersection (Broadway & 6th, at W.33rd? St.)that has everything from healthy snacks (yogurt, etc.) to full breakfast, salads, baked salmon, sandwiches on healthy breads, coffee, etc. May be open 24 hours.

Great place to stay in mid-town Manhattan

The Hotel Metro was conveniently located, situated between 5th and 6th Avenues at 35th Street. You are within walking distance to many prime locations, including the Empire State Building (only 1 1/2 blocks away), Macy's, Madison Square Garden, the International Center of Photography, and much more. I couldn't have picked a better hotel for my first trip to NYC. Besides being centrally located, Hotel Metro had a great ambiance about it with the chic charm of a '50s or '60s hotel. The rooms were cozy and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Your stay at Hotel Metro includes many perks, too, such as complimentary breakfast, complimentary luggage storage for early check-in or late check-out, guest gym and roof deck/bar.

Perfect

I am in NYC frequently, and have stayed at many hotels. This was the best value that I've found. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, so I slept better than I usually do. The breakfast was wonderful, and very convenient. I parked across the street, and got a great discount when they stamped my tickets at the front desk. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Long weekend NYC

We had a wonderful three nights stay at this hotel in the hart of Manhattan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee was good and always available. The rooms were clean and the beds good. The pent house on top of the hotel was a nice place to talk with other travelers and to watch the Empire State Building , especially in the evening! Lots of things to see at walking distance. We recommend this hotel to everybody who wants a good stay in NYC. Paul and Ina

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Take a walk on Broadway to the south. Stop at the little church St Pauls to light a candle for all the people who died on 9-11. Walk on across Battery Park and take the boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Than walk back to the hotel. On the way you cross several parks for a stop.
