Great hotel in NY

We stay in this nice hotel in August 2013. The room is a little bit small but really cozy and modern, quiet at night and clean. The people at the reception very nice. Breakfast simple but is enough for the morning. The hotel is one block from Empire State and Macys. On the roof you had a great view of Empire State. We highly recommend the hotel for your trip to NY.

Great value

My wife and I had never heard of the Hotel Metro when scheduled a short vacation in NYC. We were very impressed. The location of the hotel was very convenient: just a few blocks from Penn Station (Amtrak), and easily walkable to Times Square and Broadway. The rooms were a bit on the small side, but certainly adequate. Likewise, the fitness center was a bit small (but perhaps not for a hotel). However, I was the only person using the gym at 8:00 in the morning.

Nice hotel for $$$

This was a very nice hotel at an affordable price, in a centrallocation. It was around the corner from the Empire State Building and Macy's. Neighborhood offered everything, but the street was a little dingy. Construction going on right next store, even on Sat., but we were never in the hotel for it to bother us. Room's very small, as well as bathroom, no tub. But furnished styled very elegantly. Downside, if you open the minibar for more than 20 seconds they charge you for something. You cannot even keep something in it. But you don't see this unless you read the fine print of the minibar menu first. Riduculous. And no kid tv stations on television. The hotel personnel were great though. It is the management that should read these comments. Nice roofdeck to see city. Also have gym.

Nice hotel

Comfortable and clean. Fitness center was decent and smelled like rubber so I am assuming recently renovated. Elevators were being rejuvenated so wait times varied. Fairly quite (for New York) as it is not on a major street, but there was construction a couple doors down. Good pizza at a nearby pizza place (beside the Irish Pub) The attached restaurant was a little slow but tasty. Overall, a pleasant hotel.

New York the right way

You can't beat this location. I visited there on Thankgiving day for 2 nights. It's located between the Macy's on 5th and the empire state building. Can walk to everything. It's also only a couple of blocks from the train station. You could not find a better deal. Any hotel that came close to this one was at least double, if not triple the price. The room was quite, clean and cozy. I have already recommended this hotel to many friends.

Better than I expected.

It's NY so you expect the rooms to be small. Mine was not the closet size you would expect. It was functional, clean and comfortable. The front desk was terrific. Good source of resteraunt recomendations. The roof top deck is very enjoyable. No bar service, just take your own drink up! The Rainbow deli across the street was a good source for bottled drinks, snacks, and quick cheap meals. The hotel bar was surprisingly pleasant. Lots of TV's, decent food and good drinks. The hotel location is perfect for anything you need to do in the city. It's not a fancy schmancy hotel - but who goes to NY to stay in the room. I'll definately stay there again.
