Great location for the price

The location was close to the subway systems, and taxi's, and a short walk to time square. The staff was friendly and the rooms clean. If you can upgrade your room to a double you will have extra space for your luggage. There was local bars for entertainment and a few restraurants on the same street.

Review from an Engineer

This review written by an engineer: The location of the hotel was good. Located very close to Empire State Bldg, Macys and Madison Sq Garden. Service was good as well - friendly staff, continental breakfast, clean rooms, clean hotel overall. Rooms were old and outdated however. No flat screen TV, older furniture, motel type heat pump, electrical ceiing fixture buzzed when turned on. Big concern - the windows to the hotel opened with no screen or guard between you and the outside of the window (9 stories for us). Seems like something that should be addressed by hotel management.

VERY Pleased!!

We were extremely pleased with our stay. The hotel is in a great location. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bed was fantastic and I slept so well. The bathroom and shower was superb too. I really like a nice clean bathroom with a strong hot shower and it was great. I expected the room to be much smaller but was pleasantly suprised at how large it was. What a nice stay we had, I wish it was longer.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Rest well because there is a lot to do nearby. Macys is right around the corner and it is a large, great shopping destination. Times Square is a short walk too.

great location

The hotel is in a great spot...very convenient for walking around Manhattan. It isn't fancy, but the staff were very helpful, especially about keeping luggage after you had checked out. I would stay there again.

Great location and comfortable room

We saw Central Park and the Broadway play, Promises, Promises. The staff at Hotel Metro are wonderful. An employee helped us arrange and order our tickets for the play and the front desk was very helpful. The shower had 2 shower heads. It felt as if you were showering in a waterfall! The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel for people on vacation or business.

Great Stay!

The hotel was in an excellent location and the rooms were beautiful. Small, but that's what you get in NYC! I was traveling for business and really appreciated the friendly and attentive staff as well as the complimentary continental breakfast and 24-hour coffee. The bed was comfortable too! Great stay for business.
