great location for girls night out
hotel was very central to clubbing scene. the view from PH lounge was breath taking, club was crowded but very well managed with decent DJ. DJ seemed to be out of songs by 3am & started playing hip-hop rap ,which was uninteresting to us. Will definitely stay again! Staff & Mgmt are doing an awesome job!!!

Trendy fantastic authentic NY experience
I loved this hotel!! From the minute I walked in, I grabbed a drink at the bar while they grabbed my bags. My bellhop was so sincere and friendly as he explained the amenities and the neighborhood in general. The lounge upstairs was fun/cool/chill, the bartenders were all super helpful, music was good. My room was cleaned like 3 times a day!! You walk out and immediately there are tons of great shops, restaurants, nightclubs even! I would go back again and again ! I LOVED IT!!!

Comfortable, Stylish, and Friendly
I had a great stay at Hotel Gansevoort. It's actually a pretty small hotel with an intimate lobby that oozes with style. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and modern and the small terrace overlooking the city was a nice touch. Overall I don't have any complaints. I plan to stay here again the next time I travel to New York.

Three problems
It's a very good hotel and it definitely deserves five stars on many dimensions. But there were three negative points that I describe below. I wrote this "negative" review because I was not happy with #2. Also, I think that objectively #3 is a real deal-breaker: -#1) Everything is at the level of a five-star hotel except the TV. In my room, there was only a poor "90s" 10-inch screen without HDMI input. It seemed to me like an anachronism in this hotel. Anyway, I don't watch TV, so I didn't care. Just mentioning. -#2) The lobby is a total mess especially on Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights. As they have a fancy club accessed from inside, you have a long line in front of the hotel going into the lobby. Basically, if you are an hotel guest, you have to fight to go inside. Additionally, I was pushed by a security guard because they were too many people in the elevator (it was not my fault, I was just at the wrong place at the wrong moment). But the guy didn't apologize and basically told me that I can go and complaint if I'm not happy. It's really how one guy can spoil the efforts of all other staff. For a five-star hotel, that was not acceptable. But the source of this problem is really the mess of the lobby. They need to fix the organization unless they think that their club is more important than their hotel. -#3) This hotel is in a super-trendy area (meatpacking district) with a bunch of clubs around. Basically, you have activities all night long, including taxis honking all the time, people shouting and so on. I was on the fifth floor facing north and it was really really noisy until 3am. But trust me, at 9am, the district is dead, and you can hear the birds fly!!! So unless, you adapt yourself to the environment, go out until the clubs close, in order to sleep between 4am and 11am, this hotel might not be the best choice for you.

Just stay for the nightlife
Undoubtedly a very cool place to stay but at a price. The rooms are average as are most of the other parts of the hotel. Stay somewhere else and just visit the bar.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL
I first stayed here in the beginning of the summer and then returned just a few weeks later. The pool is so nice, and relaxing. The rooftop lounge at night is a great time too. The best part is you don't have to wait in line or pay to get in if you stay there

LUXE
The hotel was very trendy and luxurious. The staff was attentive and made us feel at home. The decor and over all aesthetic of the rooms/lounge area was very modern and luxe. The bottle service was a little too over priced even for NY standards but what a perfect hotel for a little getaway in the city! They have a rooftop heated pool and bar that is open 365 days a year with panoramic views of the HUdson and the city. Amazing gem of a hotel.

Great place!
The Gansevoort is in a great location and the rooftop pool and bar are second to none. The rooms are a little on the smaller side but that's pretty consistent in NYC.
