strategic location in central Manhattan

I think this hotel is real value for money in the heart of Manhattan Small rooms, but in the range of NYC sizes. Friendly personnel, straetgi location and good breakfast (included in the room rate) I will certainly consider it again next time...

Great location !!

Needed a hotel in NYC at last minute. On a Friday night I scored a great deal online on a very busy weekend ($125) - big east tourney - st patty's weekend. We arrived around 11pm to a very comfortable king size bed. Room was decent size for NYC. Bathroom was great. Shower and tub were very clean. Fitness center in hotel. Free Internet with two computers in the lobby. Free continental breakfast too. Many hotels in NYC do not offer free breakfast and Internet. This was a pleasant surprise that we made use of. I'll be back to NYC next March and I hope to stay here again.

Hampton inn NYC

The experience was good. The hotel location was very good. The rooms are small. The room I had was not great. The AC was very very noisy. I could not sleep. In overall positive experience but I would not use this hotel because of the AC

Not many frills & great location

Overall I would recommend if you don't mind a simple hotel that is clean an does the job. I was there for the storm and so the TV became the entertainmen for a night. Called front desk for "on demand" and was told that they did not have on demand or premium channels. Later I discovered HBO. Staff could use a little more training but overall they were pleasant and accommodated other requests. Hotel is 1/2 a block from Macy's and other stores. So great location for shopping.

Great family vacation

Nice, very clean room, enough space for a 4-adult family. Staff very helpful, especially the concierge and front desk (i.e. to receive tickets for sports events). Wi fi great. Excellent location, subway station on the corner. Downside: the street is busy and very noisy at night (the windows block the noise well, but it still gets through). Breakfast is a plus, but every day was an ode to flour and fat. The balance is very good.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

Once at the hotel, we bought tickets for sports and attractions through the Internet (wi fi was very good) and printed them in the Reception, or had them delivered in the hotel. Very practical.

Staff was great. Good location. Close to both business and entertainment areas. Street is also fairly quiet compared to some in NYC

I'll Come Back

We go to Manhattan frequently and have stayed in many hotels. This is the first time that we stayed at a Hampton Inn in NYC. I have certainly stayed at more luxurious hotels in the city, but this one was quite nice and a MUCH better bargain. The room was clean, up-to-date, and quite comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a really nice bonus and it was quite good - a substantial breakfast and not just donuts and coffee. It is right next to Herald Square and thus a short walk from Times Square. It is close to major subway routes. It is a short walk from Penn Station. I have nothing bad to say about the place and plenty of good. My epxerience at this hotel was a completely positive one. I would not hestitate to stay there again.
