Great weekend get away!

Would recommend Sat, Feb 6, 2016
My hotel experience was amazing! We missed our train so we got in the hotel very late! The front desk was excellent. They gave us a complementary late check out. It was a nice get away from a small town to the city. I would stay there again!

My friend and I stayed here when we visited NYC for our 40th Birthdays. The staff were amazing and so friendly we would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone asking.

Awful service and dirty rooms

Would not recommend Tue, Jan 12, 2016
The room was dirty - urine on the bathroom floor. Reception staff weren't very helpful at all - you feel as though you're in the wrong for asking them for help

Average hotel - don't expect extras

Would not recommend Wed, Dec 16, 2015
I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt twice now, and for my second stay it seemed as if the hotel had been recently refurbished. All very tasteful and clean. A convenient coffee shop/eatery located in the lobby gives you an inexpensive solution to breakfast or quick snacks and ample seating area allows you to chill out for the all important pit stops in the city that never sleeps. Don't expect any extras! We didn't receive anything other than our standard room, no slippers...no luggage rack...no hair dryer, these were supplied upon request. If these were the only downfalls I suppose it wouldn't have mattered however housekeeping/facilities/security made a number of visits on our long weekend stay! Our bath would not drain out, and therefore a plumber had to called and our in room safe also had to have batteries replaced, and then the actual safe! To maximise our long weekend we thought what a better way than to book a late night flight, the concierge was very helpful and arranged our transfers however the hotel do charge per item to store after check out!! Maybe I was expecting too much, but I thought overall the Grand Hyatt regardless of its impressive location wasn't much more than above average - yes the negatives aren't very serious but the positives don't make you go wow!

Fun Weekend

Would not recommend Wed, Dec 9, 2015
The hotel would have had much higher rating but when we checked in (pre-paid) they didn't have any queen rooms left so they put us in a double. They did a nice job of offering an upgrade for the next two nights in a king but since it was pre-paid I expected the room to be ready when we arrived at 9pm. I was told we could wait for a queen but they didn't know when one would be available and it was already 9pm.

Overnight stay

Would recommend Wed, Dec 9, 2015
The location next to Grand Central Station is very nice. The girl who checked us in was very nice. The bed was very small. It was a double and what really bothered me was the pillows. They flattened out to almost nothing. The bathroom is extremely small.

Family trip

Would not recommend Mon, Dec 7, 2015
We had a terrible experience with this hotel. We checked in at 11:00 p.m. and we did not have a room unril 1:45 a.m. We changed 3 rooms. Two were awful, very dirty and the other with a terrible smell of fresh paint. I had a terrible headache from such a terrible smell. The front desk did not care at all. They just said they were sorry! I would never stay in that hotel again.

Anniversary getaway

Would recommend Tue, Dec 1, 2015
Great location, great staff. Beautiful hotel and loved the amenaties. Did not like how small the bathroom was and the shelf over the sink that I almost hit my head on every time I washed my face. Also, $70 to valet is a bit much. Had to park two blocks away. I would still recommend this hotel and stay there again in a second!
