Flatotel at Times Square

What passes for 4 star in NYC would not be 2 star anywhere else. Room was huge but looked like a very rundown apartment. Furniture was worse than a college dorm. Carpets were soaking wet when I got in room. Could not even put my luggage down on floor the first night.Horrible AC that intermittently gave off a very loud hum that would wake you in middle of night.Got NO SLEEP the second night at all.Would not recommend this place for my dog.

My experience was a white room with no paintings that looked like a dorm room with cheap molding and trim. Then you go in the bathroom and there is jacuzzi. Makes no sense. I had the surpise of an intruder in my room at 4:30am in the morning. Another guest either had the wrong key from reception or his key worked on my room! After calling the front desk, I was told they will "look into it". Look into it? You just had someone break into my room. The next morning I again walked up to the reception and asked them to look into this ASAP. I told them to call me when they know more information about this. They never did. They did not care. This place was terrible and not safe. If my wife and kid were there, I would have made a bigger deal out of it. The Flatotel is a big waste of money. Also, the resturant in the hotel went belly up.

My experience was not good at all. I dealt with very un-friendly staff that was very unprofessional and not willing to please their guests. I would not recommend anyone stay there. I have stayed in many places in New York City and this is the first place I encountered that I will NEVER stay again. Overall this place was horrible and I will never return there at all.

A lovely facility staffed by unhelpful, unhappy employees who don't mind feeding their spite at your expense.

Substandard hotel. Poor air conditioning, slow elevators & tired conditions. Nice staff. Compare to a cheap airport motel & you have the picture.

out dated. no heat in the room i called the front desk and told them i had no heat and i was stepping out if someone could take a look at it. they said no problem. i came back at 3am to no heat mind you it was in the 30s in nyc this weekend.

I have stayed here many times in the past, both on business and with my fmily. This room was ridiulous. I had no desk, no mirror(other than above sink), no ice bucket, no door tag, no clock. I called down for some of things, waited over an hour, then had to go to work. never got them. asked for a cab at 6:45, they told me to just ask when I came down. It took nearly 15 minutes. No one seemed especially concerned about my experience. They told me it was because I booked it on-line. Not Happy!

Rooms VERY small, no dresser, television did not work until I called twice for assistance. Room was miniscual and with no view...I expected much more for the price I paid and will not stay here again.An order of toast and an English muffin, one cup of poor coffee and a small glass of orange juice cost $28.00!! C'mon! And that was in the restaurant, not room service!

Tired and undesirable. Good location is about where it ends. Noisy air conditioner, pathetic fitness facilities, and bed bugs (check it out on the internet) .

This stay at the Flatotel was a real disappointment. We stayed there several years ago and it was good, but this time, the room was not clean. There was mold and mildew in the shower/bath and the room was not well-maintained or clean. The staff did not appear to be organized. We ordered room service once and someone called later to ask for our credit card # over the phone. She was rude and insistent when I told her that we'd like to charge it to the room. She said we had no charge account or that it wasn't valid, despite the fact that we had pain in advance. New management must have taken over this hotel. IT SHOULD NOT BE RATED 4 STARS! a BIG disappointment and we will not stay there again.
