Dont bother
Tired and undesirable. Good location is about where it ends. Noisy air conditioner, pathetic fitness facilities, and bed bugs (check it out on the internet) .

Great location
First time to New York and I believe we picked the best hotel considering the the location of the places we wanted to see. Its a few few blocks to central park, a couple blocks to times square, also close to moma. We walked everywhere and asked around to figure out how to take the subway so we never needed to pay for a taxi. The staff was friendly even though I had read reviews stating they weren't. I had requested non smoking room but received a smoking one and although they weren't able accommodate me to a non smoking till the following day they did move us. It is pricy but for a first timer I don't regret it and it was worth it.

A palacial threadbare rundown room
This hotel has a great location, and looks nice from the outside, and the price isn't too bad. But...the surprises await after check-in. This is actually a converted condominium complex, so some of the rooms in this "hotel" are actually spacious two room suites including a small dining room, full kitchen, and a separate bedroom with lots of closet space. However, they have allowed the fixtures and the carpets to get very run-down, and the lobby looks like 1972 London. The airconditioning units in my room were very dodgey, with one working fine and the other not at all. In short, a large cavernous space at a good price, but that's about it. I can't say it wasn't clean, but it didn't feel clean...

Flatotel
Excellent location in midtown manhattan. Rooms are decent sized for the location, we stayed in a king room. Bathrooms are great and very big. Friendly staff. TV's and carpeting need replaced or updated. And the in hotel restaurant , moda, is a miss. This is my second stay here, and both were very pleasant.

Excellent hotel for family travel
The room was spacious and included two bedrooms, one for our children and one for us. It was an excellent location in mid-town Manhattan, within walking distance of the theater district and with easy access to the subway, the MoMA, and bus lines. Some of the materials in the room were less luxurious (painted metal doors, etc.) and the continental breakfast was unimpressive, but the space was large, the room was clean, and the location was perfect. I'd recommend the Flatotel to any family taking a trip to NYC.

Spacious, but not without small flaws
For the price, the space was phenomenal. Given that they do not have wireless in the rooms (but they do give you an Ethernet cord upon check-in), you are tied to the desk if you want to use your laptop. The room arrangement was also set up such that you couldn't really watch the TV if you were at the desk. Let me determine how productive I want to be at night! I know that some people like their beds firm, but this was Fred Flintstone hard. I've never been in a hotel that had such a firm mattress. Ouch! The room came with a garden tub and was once again very spacious for NYC. Also, impressive water pressure for being on the 23rd floor! Great location for the price and easy access to subway, so overall it's fine if you like to be disconnected and your resting to be done on a concrete slap covered in a fitted sheet.

A good solid hotel.
Fair valu
A good solid hotel. Fair value. Reasonable facilities. Rooms are a little tired - typical of NYC. Good location. Staff are great. Elevators are the worst, slow and not enough of them.

nyc during the holidays
The hotel was nice and clean but our room didn't have light in it. They had a big lamp that was supposed to light up the room but the bulb was burnt. We called hotel staff 3 times and noone came to replace it. Also the light over the bed was burnt out so we were left the bathroom light and the desk light. other than that we were ok. The hotel is in a GREAT location. This was probably the worst sleep my husband and I had in a hotel ever. The pillows were terrible... thank god we only stayed there one night.
