Flatotel at Times Square

Located in midtown, easy walking distance to subway, Rockefeller plaza, Times square, broadway shows, central park, MoMa, 5th avenue shops, etc. Rooms were clean and spacious, bathroom was nice as well. Really no complaints.

Nice huge rooms. Uncomfortable couches though. And the bar closes like like 9pm. What's up with that?

Staff was very cordial and attentive. The location is perfect walking distance to many attractions. The rooms are huge for NYC!!

Hotel great location near subways lines which is a plus ! 2 blocks away from Rockefellar plaza, lots of things in walking distance . Rooms very large for NY standards well the room i had. overall a good stay i would go back for sure .

Apart from the location this hotel has very little going for it. The reception area is so dark you can easily walk past it without noticing it when you first enter the hotel....perhaps allows the staff to sleep easier during the night shift. The living room TV is too small and positioned too high on the wall. The picture on our tv was "warped". The TV in the brm was an old style bulky type that only helped clutter the room and reduce the free space...recommend this hotel only for it's location to Times Square.

Stayed here during the week of Oct. 1, when for some reason many NYC hotels were either sold out or REALLY overpriced...$250 a night plus tax was actually a pretty good deal for the location. The location is pretty good, close to a number of train stops, times square, central park, etc. That said, this is NOT a four star hotel...the whole place is in need of an overhaul. I think they were going for that "drab-chic" look, but totally forgot about the chic part. There is nothing outright disgusting about the place, but it just feels old, run down and generally not really clean. The rooms are some of the biggest I have seen in NYC for the price. The lobby bar attracts quite a crowd at night for some inexplicable reason. Ultimately, you get what you pay for and for a short stay this place is ok.

The Flatotel was a great place to stay. It was close to many subway stations and places to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable.

The Flatotel was clean, had pleasant decor, and the staff was very professional and helpful. The room I had was a standard queen room. By standard I mean it was a noermal size hotel room with plenty of space to get around. Many hotels in NYC have postage size rooms that don't have any space to move around. It could not have been located in any better place. It was located close to so many attractions. Most were in walking distance. What came as a surprise to me was that upon check-in I was given coupons for a complimentary Continental breakfast for each day of my stay. In NYC that is a bonus. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting NYC.

We were '"walked' from the hotel, supposedly due to a "burst pipe". They sent us to a sister hotel across town, only to discover that there was no room there either. A simple phone call could have prevented that. So we returned to the hotel, and were given a nice big room with broken AC, and they "walked" some other guest, I imagine. The staff on the desk when we returned were unaware of the "burst pipe", they blamed a "computer problem" and blamed for their supposed inability to give us a call prior to arrival to appraise us of their situation.

Large room in good location. Bed very uncomfortable. Decor tired and in need of major revision. Poor attention to detail. Shower was excellent flow such that the bathroom door was rotton from water damage! Breakfast buffet was limited and poor value. Felt pressured by staff for excessive tip. Would not recommend or return.
