Fabulous Winter Getaway in NYC
The hotel was in a fantastic location with all the amenities, comfort, room size and service. Close walking distance to Times Square, Rockefellar, Central Park and Subway. Great! Too bad it was sooo cold! Good experience. Sadly, their restaurant was under renovation, but there was a cafe/mini mart 1/2 block over so got all breakfast items and ate in our full kitchen. That part was the best in our 4 day stay. The rooms were unusally spacious and large. HIGHLY recommend this hotel. I will come back and stay here again.

New York City Pass! Combined ticket cost to fabulous places. Ran out of time to use all the passes for a cheap cost or would be paying at each spot. Ride the subways to any of the great attractions. The Best was "The Ride" www.ExperiencetheRide.com

Comfortable, but bare bones.
The rooms are comfortable but the hotel needs some amenities. There is a bar and restaurant, but it's closed for business. You can't even get a cup of coffee unless you go to Starbucks down the street. The addition of coffee makers in the rooms would be great.

Check out Virgil's BBQ on 44th between 7th and 6th. It's real southern BBQ in NYC! The unique southern Ceasar salad is great. Reasonable prices too.

Above our expectations
We had a very nice vacation at this hotel even the weather was very cold and stormy. Our only negative though is that hotel is asking a lot extra fees for arranging the ride to the airport. This service was complementary in 4 star hotel in Zurich(Switzerland)...We paid almost the half price on our own to a cab in front of the hotel. Well, maybe this was because of the year-end week...

Not good
Ther was no drinking glasses in the room, it was under constrution. The paint was peeling off the walls. TV did not work. No clock in the room. It was the worst room I have ever had with your company. . I have to question you on this one. Jim.

Vacation
The location of the hotel was great and as promised it was a modern looking hotel. However, we had to requests washcloths two days in a row - they were not provided with the clean towels. A coffee maker was requested and on the second request we received it. However, there was no basket with the coffee pot so we had to request that so we could make coffee. There were no ice machines available at all - we were told we had to request it and then an ice bucket filled with ice would be provided. The most surprising thing was that there was no alarm clock in the room. We did call the Desk for a wake up call, but it would have been convenient to have a clock in the room.

Better than days inn, Cannot be compared to 4star hotels i've been. The hallway looks like one of the motel's. old building, yet great location for people don't need fancy hotel for good price.

Excellent all the way around
From the moment we arrived until our departure the staff couldn't have been nicer. We arrived early Thanksgiving Day) and although our room wasn't ready we were able to check our bags which allowed us to go off to the parade luggage free. We were told to call to see if our rooms we ready but we decided to walk back and check around 1 PM and the rooms were ready although check-in wasn't till 4, we were allowed to check in. The rooms , by NYC standards was large and very clean and comfy.I did my usual bed bug inspection and found both rooms bug free ( huge thing for me). Location was perfect with just a very short walk to Times Square and all other attractions.Would definetly recommend and would stay there again without hesitation.

Everything in Times Square is expensive especially the food. Stroll the side streets for excellent food at far better prices. Avoid TGIF where a chicken sandwich is 20 bucks!

you get what you pay for
the important message for any traveler who will only stay in four and five star hotels is that this is barely a TWO star. i should have know with the price falling far below other mid-town hotels, but took the risk. please don't. shabby carpet, tenament slum hall and entry lighting, hasn't been re-done since the 80's i'd say, absolutely nothing on the walls....and a disqusting old jazzuzi tub that gave an unclean feeling whether it was or it wasn't! they have the dead carcass of a defunk restaurant you must walk past in the lack-luster lobby. next you'll find what resymbols a cantena in a third world country for forgotten aminities. if you must, for the budget, do not spend over $200/night.
