We saw the show Memphis while it was still in previews and it was AMAZING!! Got really cheap tix at [@] Also, going to the box office of the show that you really want to see RIGHT when it opens (usually 10am), sometimes you can get "rush" tickets for $20. we had awesome seats for Next to Normal last Saturday and it was fantastic. Even in the next to last row-we could see it all!

Great location!
have friends, will travel Oct 13, 2009
I took some friends on a tour of the city, took in a few shows and did a LOT of shopping. The ONLY issue that I had with our ... entire stay was that the toilet wouldn't always flush...which got embarassing...and the shower wouldn't drain. After we called the front desk, someone came up and fixed it right away. The beds were VERY comfortable, and there is a great little deli right across the street!

Found the room clean and neat; nice features included refrig & water heater. For the price, the hotel was probably a good ... deal. After all, didn't expect The Peninsula. Shower lacked sturdy rail to hold onto when getting in and out; shower water leaked onto floor; new shower door sealer needed.

the location was very very good. the room was pretty clean and the furniture is modern and up to date. the elevators are ... really slow though and the security guard was not always there to check ppl's card, so it might not be as safe. but most of the staff was very nice and accomodating. for the price paid, the hotel was a really great deal.

Joanne Sep 7, 2009
location is really awesome, close to most everything. My key card did not work every time I came back each night - had to ... either go back down and ask for a replacement which was a big hassle. Our room was not ready until 4pm, and the hotel actually required US to check every hour to see if our room was ready or not - it wouldve been a better service if they were to call us to let us know so at least that way, we couldve gone exploring until then.

Good decent hotel
Frequent NYC traveler Aug 13, 2009
In general a decent hotel. You could tell that it was an older hotel that had some upgrades. The first night we realized it ... was really noisy, sounded like the window was open. Turns out it was!!! It was damaged and did not close completely. However when we reported it to the front desk it was fixed immediately the next day. The room size was a decent size hotel for the NYC. The biggest issue was the elevator. The hotel is over 40 floors high. There were only 2 elevators servicing floors 7 and up. Some mornings we had to wait a good 5 - 10 minutes before an elevator was available (we were on the 25th floor.)

The location was ideal, walking distance to great restaurants, Times Square, Madison Ave and Central Park. The room was ... spacious and comfortable. However, housekeeping didn't leave soaps or shampoo for us so we had to call to ask for it. When we tried to call the phone didn't work. When we finally figured out how to use the phone, the front desk staff was not very friendly. The most annoying things was waiting what seemed like forever for the elevator (only two guest elevators) every time we came and went. If location is really what matters to you, this place is great even with all the other quirks.
