The Fitz were brilliant

I know this seems to good to be true, but honestly, I cannot fault the Fitzpatrick Manhattan on anything! Staff were fantastic, everyone from the front desk, to the bar/restaurant staff and housekeepers, they were all great. I brought my wife there for her 40th, it was a surprise. A few days beforehand, I rang the Fitz, and told them the story - it was like everyone was in on the game when we arrived. And they had a little surprise in the room also to mark the occasion. When originally booking, I knew we could get a cheaper hotel but decided to splash out a little on the occasion. And buy was it worth it - even those we did get a good deal.

Lovely boutique hotel in Mid-Town Manhattan

The great location, near Central Park East, and comfortable rooms combine with terrific price to make this a fantastic find. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms and beds are comfortable. You could do a lot worse!

Fitzpatrick Manhattan - December 2011

We enjoyed a family holiday at Fitzpatrick Manhattan - the suite was good although the bathroom was a little small - the service was excellent, staff friendly and helpful at all times. Location was excellent.

Welcoming hospitality

The Fitzpatrick Hotel was brilliant for us - a family of four in NY for a weekend to see family. We had reserved a suite and on arrival they upgraded us and it was lovely. We were welcomed and there was no need to get paperwork out and the fuss and bother of confirming the reservation - just took our name and that was enough. The decor is classic - dark wood furniture and architectural prints but not fussy. A gorgeous bedroom with an enormous bed, windows that opened on both sides of the room, lots of chests of drawers and useful tables, an enormous arm chair with footstool and a window seat. Lights could be dimmed so perfect for small children who needed the comfort of a night light. The windows had curtains, nets and blackout curtains so it could be dark while the children slept but light enough and the inevitable view of the back of buildings could be disguised. Opening the curtains to morning sunshine was wonderful. The bathroom was a lovely size, although the Americans don't understand the full length bath but it was deliciously wide with lots of shelves for book balancing and light to read too! Lighting could be dimmed too so you could find your way in the middle of the night. The sitting room had a pull out sofa bed which was perfectly comfortable although my husband did wonder why we had the short straw and not the children! I go on the principle that if the children are not exhausted everyone has a better time. More armchairs, a desk with a couple of chairs and still there was floor space. Like the bedroom there were windows which opened on both sides of the room. Kitchenette area had a sink, small fridge and coffee machine and tucked around the corner so unobtrusive. Lots of coat cupboards and hanging space. Enormous television in both rooms with remote control instructions that were clear and easy to understand. The staff were delightful, we borrowed their computer to check in online, and they could not have been more helpful. Didn't go to the restaurant bar but it seemed popular with people in it most of the time and the food looked great. Room service menu was varied and not ridiculously over priced. Location was perfect for us and it was not too big or too corporate. Easy to get to central park and the delights of 5th Avenue and just down the road from Bloomingdales too. Other clients seemed to be out of towners who had come to NY for the weekend and family groups - everyone seemed to be laughing and smiling which I always feel is a good thing.

Weekend getaway

The room itself was beautiful, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I would certaintly stay again and recommend it to anyone looking to get away and not stay in a cookie cutter stereotypical hotel.

Great New York city business stay

Great hotel for a business trip--good value. Room was nicely appointed, very quiet and comfortable--even included a suit press, robe, and turn-down service that left slippers, water and a chocolate! Only thing missing was free wi-fi (costs $14.95/24 hrs). Staff friendly, and was easy to catch a cab. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby if you need a bite or forgot to bring something. Cafe off lobby, but I didn't use it. I recommended the hotel to a friend already, and would stay there again.

Well Done

Staff very helpful and accommodating, especially with my luggage allowing me to store it while I attended a wedding. The cafe is quite nice and the food and service quite good. The hotel is two blocks away from the 59th street subway which was very helpful. No issues with the room, bed bugs etc all very clean.

Great Hotel

Enjoy the hotel and the staff there. Still concerns around NYC's bedbugs issue, but so far, so good.
