Good deal for the money
For the money its a good deal. Not in the hustle and bustle of Time Square which was nice. Lots of places to eat but some close early and may not be open on the weekend because of the location. Blocks from the South Side Sea Port,Wall Street,Battery Park and lots of attractions. Room was huge for NYC. Mattress and pillows were not very plush nor was the carpet. Breakfast way over priced so eat out. Great diner close by called Pearl Street Diner and other places close. Elevators were very fast. No air conditioning in the colder months so we had to open windows.Could use a better shower head. Would stay again when in New York

Very satisfied; will be back.
A surprisingly good buy for NYC. Fantastic location, >5 minute walk to subway, cabs galore nearby. Very safe area, ample nearby dining. Clean, modern room, with windows that open for fresh air! Very quiet, old building's solid plaster walls keep noise to a minimum. Seems to have been acquired by Eurostars relatively recently: building shows obvious recent TLC and upgrades; exterior work is in progress. I suspect price will rise once hotel upgrading is complete. On Memorial Day weekend neighborhood was nearly deserted except for crowds headed for South Street Seaport a couple of blocks away.

South Street Seaport is a seafaring museum/shopping mall/restaurant complex. Skip the mall part, you can go to Crocs or Brookstone anywhere, but the ships and other exhibits are worth it and the variety of dining options from fast food trucks to upscale waterview white linen tablecloth establishments provide something for everyone.

Good Hotel...Good Price
I had a very enjoyable time at this hotel. The hotel staff above all was excellent. Upon check-in we were given a room upgrade - from standard queen room to double queen room - free of charge. Location - Within walking distance (5-10 mins.) of several trains, stores, and eateries. The Room - Large, spacious, comfortable and clean. The decor was minimal, yet modern and elegant. The color scheme was black & white with red. It had a nice touch of class as well. There was a large leather couch and chairs, which was really comfortable while watching cable on the flat screen. The bath room was standard size, and clean as well. The beds were nice and huge. I slept like a baby. Staff- accommodating and prompt. Seeing that I needed extra towels I called down to the front desk, and they quickly sent up two. On the down side though, it looked like the area was under construction, as the hotel was surrounded by metal awnings. The windows of our room were covered from the outside with tarp, so no natural light could come through it, and all you saw was a blue sheet. The hallway looked a little worse for wear. It was not well lit, and the floors were spotty. Also the room was a bit cold, there was no way to regulate the temp. But it wasn't that big of a deal, and didn't decrease the overall experience. Also don't go for the in-room treats and drinks, they were too expensive. It's best to bring your own snacks and drinks. Bottom line: The room was fantastic, you can't beat a room-upgrade, environment was extremely quiet, and comfortable. The staff was top-notch. It was well worth the price. And the hotel earns every star they have.

Great Time!
Had a great time! We had an Executive Queen room, and were hoping for an upgrade to a King, but unfortunately didn't get it. But the room was large and clean. Only downside was the bed and pillows. The bed wasn't super comfortable, but at least it was firm. The pillows were horrible, so hard they gave us headaches when we woke up in the morning. If you can, I recommend bringing your own pillow! But we still had a great time and we're planning on staying there on our next trip to NYC!

Great & Relaxing Location
Visiting NYC for the first time. This hotel was great. The only problem was the plumbing. We had to call the front desk to have someone come up and correct it. Overall the room was adaquate, very clean comfortable and quiet. Room had a wonderful skylight, however at night tended to be a little too dark, so I would suggest more lighting. Price was also great. We will stay here again on our next trip to NYC.
