Shabby and Dirty
The closets, carpets and bathroom were dirty. The furniture worn and tired. The bed made noise when you moved. The tube TV was unwatchable. Would not go back at any price.

Would Stay Anytime
We were so thrilled because we got such a great deal right in Manhattan. The agent described it as "a studio" with "one queen bed", and we were so pleasantly surprised to discover that all the rooms at this hotel are very room and even have kitchenettes! The bathrooms are great...I would highly recommend the Eastgate Tower Hotel!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
For a quick and tasty breakfast, try "Cafe Trend" on the southwest corner of 3rd Ave and 39th St. My wife walked down there in the morning at brought back an awesome breakfast...egg, bacon, tomato, and cheese on an english muffin...superb!

Far from anywhere
I read that Eastgate Tower Hotel is near from some of the most important places in NY. For example, 15 minutes walking distance to the MSG. That'ts not true. It is more than half hour walking! You need a Taxi for almost go to anywhere. Is a very noisy hotel. Noise from outside the hotel and from other rooms,Elevators are old, as carpets and bathroom. I think anyone can get cheaper and better options in NY.

Great place to stay near NYC attractions
We stayed at The Eastgate Tower Hotel rather than stay at another hotel nearby that would have cost $300 more for our three-day stay, and could not have been happier. The room we chose was like a small apartment: There was a spacious living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a bath and a bedroom. The room was very clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the living room space made it nice to unwind after a long day of conferences (for me) and sightseeing (for my husband) before going out for the evening. The staff are truly excellent. Would highly recommend!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you're looking for a place to eat on Times Square, keep walking past all the attractions; you'll find a better selection of restaurants (and they all will cost at least $100 for two people, no matter what you plan to eat, so be prepared for that).

Need an apartment?
The Eastgate Tower is the place to stay if you want that "lived in" vibe. The room we had on the 14th floor was huge; the kitchen complete with stove, microwave and dishes along with the walk-in closet welcomed us back daily after our NYC excursions. If you are looking for comfort, at a great price, in a very convenient location, this is the place for you!

Check out the rush tickets for shows. We paid $20 each for front row seats for Avenue Q (Off Broadway.)

OK for Midtown
The Eastgate Tower is a good value in a central, Midtown location. However, it does need to get cleaned up in general to make this a great place to stay.
