Dylan was a dissapointment
There was a construction project right outside our window and the noise was horrible right up until one oclock in the morning. The staff should have offered us a room off the street but they only wanted to let us know that the construction was not their fault. This is a terrible lapse of management, the hotel was not full at all and it says that management is not at all attendent to guests. We will never stay at the Dylan again. We have traveled to NYC often over the last 12 years and intend to continue doing so but have learned a hard lesson on relying on the hotel management to be aware of the local conditions.

Average Room - could have used some work
Hotel was in a nice location. It was a walkable distance from main tourist attractions around time square. Staff werent very personable. Acted like they were too busy to make eye contact and too busy for you in general... even though no other guests were in line or around. Room was average. Not very large and the cabinetry could use some updating - ours looked scuffed and used. Bathroom was nice - made out of marble. Shower was clogged and over flowed - also very small. Had a hot tub - very pretty. We stayed for one night on a Saturday in February and paid $145 for the night.

Short Stay to NYC
Good hotel, but there was some major mix up with the staff on check in and it caused a massive hold on the CC. They claimed it was a computer glitch, but I think is was human error. It took way to long to check in. When I asked about the hold issue, they threw up their hands as if there was nothing to do. I'm sure they could have made it happen. So, a sour taste to start. And do not have breakfast at the Benjamin next door - very expensive and okay quality. But overall a nice place.

Basic not boutique hotel in a great location.
Great location, but no real value for money. Decor somewhat tired. Room very basic. Its the old Chemists Club building and though it tries to incorporate little quaintnesses of a pharmacy, it lacks character. Facilities very basic. More of a business hotel where all you need is a well situated room. Great steakhouse in the hotel.

Very nice
When I checked in they were not able to get us in early but when it was check in time they were able to upgrade us to a king size bed for free. Well maybe it was free. A very nice hotel and the staff was great. The only thing that was a problem was a 4.30 charge for something that they cant explain maybe it was for the mints that i took from the check in desk.

Cool Hotel Near Queens
This hotel worked out well because I had a wedding to attend in Queens. Only 15 minutes away by car but in a great location of Manhattan. I was near all the shopping of 5th Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Madison and Lexington. Times Square was a quick walk and there was a Starbucks right by the hotel. Valet parking was $45 but there are parking garages next door for cheaper. However, we check-in on a Saturday night, so after the wedding, we found street parking and it was free the next day. The staff was nice and courteous, check-out was quick and easy! Beautiful hotel with great amentities and just the right price. The best part is the location because you are in the heart of Manhattan.

My review of Dylan Hotel
This hotel was recently remodeled so it was clean. The fixtures in the room are plastic...but it is nice and trendy any way. Room is decent in size compared to other rooms in the city. The room was clean and that is really important to us. We walked to Grand Central it was very close and rode the subway up town to the museums.

Wouldn't pay full price but worth bargain price
We were lucky to find a great bargain price for this hotel. For what we paid, it was fine, but I probably would not pay full price. The room was nice enough, and spacious by New York standards, but some of the furniture looked a little worn. The room was also a bit warm and we could not get it cooler. A small incident regarding a problem in the room was hard to resolve because the person sent up to check did not speak english. The location near Grand Central is convenient since there is a direct shuttle there to Times Square, but there isn't alot right around the hotel itself. All in all, it was worth the bargain price we paid, but not worth the rack rate.
