Good Location
My stay at the Dylan Hotel in NYC was relatively comfortable. I was only in my hotel room for a couple of hours over one night but the accommodations were more than adequate. The room was somewhat small but it was clean and quiet. The hotel is also very conveniently located 2 blocks from Grand Central where you can get the subway or easily catch a cab. I did not have much interaction with the staff other than at check-in and check-out but they all seemed friendly and helpful.

Overall a very good deal
Overall this was a good experience - nicely appointed, clean room. It was much smaller than on my original stay. Staff were very accommodating in getting me into my room early. Room had access to a great patio - unfortunately it was rainy & cool so couldn't take in the views! Only real disappointment was that the bed had no headboard and no reading lights.

Great Experience, Great Location
After Orbitz booking, I checked at other sites & was a little worried about this hotel. I had read bad reviews about the AC not working in the summer. Turns out it was only in the lobby. I shouldn't have worried! Each room had individual controls. Service people were great & helpful. Location was superb! From Grand Central Station, you have many, many options of different trains, so transportation was great. Also, the stop for buses going directly to JFK & LaGuardia are only 1/2 blk away. We had a fabulous time & found the hotel to be lovely. Not too fancy, but who wants to stay in the hotel if you go to NYC? We will stay here again.

Spacious room, nice staff, but...
Friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms with high ceilings, and complementary Internet access made this a pleasant stay for us. The hotel has an interesting history a nice motif, and lots of good ideas, but falls short on the details, though most of the details didn't affect us much. The bathroom was large, but the marble bathroom floor was dangerously slippery, both when dry and wet. The phones didn't work (had cell), the smoke alarm was chirping (they removed it), the iron didn't work, knobs on furniture were loose, only one bar of soap (we could deal), only two pillows (they provided more on request), one towel hanger missing.

Great Midtown Location
Love the location- Lots of noise though with construction outside all night long. Rooms are adequately sized but not glamorous- may just be their "style".

"Very nice hotel"
I am a resident of New York City and this was my first visit to the Dylan Hotel. I was highly impressed with the staff and the room. The staff was very pleasant. I resided in a luxury room. The bed size was more than adequate and the room size was perfect. The bathroom was extremely clean and with updated decor.I only wish that the bathroom had a bathtub so I could take a hot soak in the tub, but I still enjoyed the hot shower. It was very quite throughout the night. I was able to visit Grand Central Station, which was right around the corner. I really enjoyed my stay at the Dylan Hotel and I will be returning. I highly recommend this hidden gem in New York City. Thank you!

Good NYC Experiance
Good looking, excellent rooms and location, I would not recommend the restaurant for breakfast, the service is bad, the food is bad, but the restaurant in the evening for dinner is excellent! The food is great and the service is good and friendly.

good for one night
We came in for a show at Radio City, so our expectations weren't that high. That said, the Dylan was umm...fine. Decent sized room for NY standards, but pretty spare. Like "2 pillows and 2 towels spare" for 2 people. Felt very European. Marble floors are great, but not in an unheated bathroom in January. And don't charge me for minibar water when we were there barely 24 hours.
