Superb Location

The Doubletree is perfectly situated in Midtown Manhattan with access to all places of interest only a short journey away!! ... There is a tube station outside the hotel which gives great access to lower Manhattan within 10mins, central park is only a 10min walk up Lexington Avenue with some great shops on the way. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, the only complaint was breakfast was not included, if it was we were not made aware of this!!

From the minute we arrived we were treated like second class guests because we had made our reservations online. When I ... inquired about a rollaway bed in the room I was informed that it would be an additional $50 a night. When I wanted to get Hilton points I was told I could not because I had made the reservation online Never again!

City Site offers bus tours to various popular sites at an affordable price. These tours can be booked through the conceierge at the Doubletree. Also there is a place called Ess-a-Bagel located one block behind the Doubletree that serves great, fresh bagels!

The hotel has a great location and very clean and spacious rooms. The only thing I didn't like is that they charge extra for ... everything. 2 dollars per bag for the bellboy to keep your luggage until your flight.

Everything about the hotel was great. The best beds I have ever slept on in a hotel. Maybe even better than my bed at ... home. It was a good location but did still require quite a bit of walking. The Cafe Metro right next door was an awesome place for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Doubletree Metropolitan on 51st and Lexington was a great hotel for the money! They are currently in the end process of ... refurbishing the lobby and main floor, but the noise and inconvenience was minimal. The staff was super accomodating and the rooms were large (considered by most NY standards). [...] at the front desk was awesome as was [...] who kept our room very clean. The location was great.....easy walking distance from most tourist sites. Also, the Metro Cafe is located next door and offers affordable and good meals. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is very budget friendly as most of NY is not....

While the hotel appears nice on the outside once on the floor you feel like you are in an old college dorm. Hallways are tiny ... and the rooms are most unimpressive. Peeling paint, wall paper, running faucets and old tubs are just a few examples of how run down the place is.

My friends and I went for a girls weekend shopping spree and packed a lot in for a 3 day trip. The only bad thing was the ... room was warm and the cleaning crew turned of the air conditioning every morning. If you leave a note to leave it on they will. The walk to Time Square was further than we thought so be aware and take good/comfortabel shoes. Other wise it was great!! We had a blast and great view of the city.

Get the City Pass or New York Pass (depending on what you want to see) the price is good compared to what you pay to see the attractions. Plan your days out so you'll know how long of a pass to get. Get a all day subway (train) pass is't only 8.50 for unlimited trips.

The hotel lobby was under construction. The check-in desk was too brightly lit. As I approached the desk to check-in, I was ... blinded by the lighting. Desk help was not friendly. Perhaps they were upset that they had to work the holiday! Hot water in the shower was an issue.

This was such a refreshing experience, from my warm chocolate chip cookie upon check-in to my serene room with comfortable ... bedding. I was in the middle of one of the busiest sections of NYC, but from my room I was not able to tell and I was so grateful. It was a location that was peaceful and convenient at the same time and that's rare and I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities.

After arriving at at JFK we felt adventurous and decided to take the Airtrain and Subway (E)line as the hotel is located ... right beside 51st Street Lexington, I would recommend this to anyone, so easy and alot cheaper than the taxi's. Check is was very quick and we were upgraded to a King size room from a Queen at no extra cost (complemetry cookie on arrival). Reception currently being renovated but this has no impact on the rest of the hotel. Rooms are tidy with the bathroom a little on the small side but I did not go to New York to see a Bathroom. All in all a very good hotel with an excellent location and would definitely stay at the Doubletree again in the future.

No hair dryer in room and not even a tiny 1 cup coffee machine mini bar cabinet without a refrig, very small room and lobby ... 2/3 to 3/4 cloed off hard to get around people blocking small passage

We do not recommend the Hotel for Breakfest.. biggest rip off of the trip.. we got the buffett.. without looking at the price first.. it cost us $60.00 for the two of us.. definitely not worth it.. the city has fantastic little deli's and cafe's all over that are better go to!
