Great holiday/vacation

Great location, fairly quiet even though our room was just across the hall from the stairway entry door, room was very small and would have been nice to have in-room coffee, easy walking distance to everything we were there to see (did not need auto), toured World Trade Center Memorial and Museum--very well done and incredibly honoring to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack and those who so bravely worked to get as many as possible out; walked to Empire State Building-toured to 102nd floor, wonderful tour, very informative, the audio tours are great for both the World Trade Center Memorial and the Empire State Building, continued to walk on to Central Park (not a good day with all the noise from the parade) returning to the hotel via Battery Park. Really a great trip!

Excellent location

The Cosmopolitan has a great location with the 1-2-3 Chambers St. subway located right outside it's front door. The staff was very friendly. We arrived early and were allowed to check-in which was great. The room we had - 2 doubles - was rather small, as was the bathroom, but it was clean and updated with a flat screen TV, desk area and nice linens. The view from our 5th floor room looked out onto a brick wall 4 feet away - so next time I would request a room with a view. The bathroom had a nice little window in the shower that actually opened which was nice to let the steam out. The drainage in the sink and the tub could have been better - patience was needed for complete water evacuation. There was a safe, for valuables, in the free-standing chiffarobe, which we didn't use but was nice to have. There's no coffee maker in the room, but there is a Starbucks on the 1st floor. I think the best part of staying here is the closeness to the Subway which was our exclusive mode of transportation while in New York. All in all, it was a extremely satisfactory stay for our long Friday through Monday weekend.

Pleasant place to stay on business

Hotel is in a great location. Subway stop is right outside the door. Easy to walk to the Financial District. Great restaurants around the neighborhood. The lobby and room were very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful with directions. I would definitely stay here again.

EXCELLENT

The subway stop 123 is right in front of the hotel. Starbucks Coffee is side by side. The room is big enough and very clean. The TV is movable and the sofa can turn out to be a bed for any friend who want to stay over for a bit. In general it is a great experience staying here! It is just a little far from Time Square but it is a quiet place!

Fix the A/C situation!!

The hotel is in a good location. The front desk staff were not overly friendly (maybe just who was working when I checked in). I didn't get the type of room I paid for and was not given an explanation. The room was tiny and so warm it was sweltering. The A/C unit was so loud and stopped and started all night so sleeping was difficult. I doubt I wouls stay at this hotel again.

Horrible Hotel

I am a very frequent traveler & accompany my husband for business very often & have been doing so for years & this is the first time that I have ever written a review for anything. I am traveling with my baby & have been doing so since she's been 10 weeks old. She's now 17 months & normally things are great.. The room is very tiny with hardly any moving space, the hallways spray these horrible fumes every minute to cover up the musty smell but the chemicals are really strong & just terrible. If you have asthma or allergies please be ware. I am freezing so I try to turn on heat but it's only blowing freezing air so when I call the front desk they tell me that they have not turned on their heat yet because it's warm outside. Meanwhile I'm shivering & it's late october & it's in the low 40's outside. The noise from the very thin & old windows makes it very difficult to get any rest & did I mention the construction going on outside which makes the building very difficult to find & I had to go through a big ordeal & drive around 4 streets to find the spot for the valet to take my car because of all the construction around the building. Very inconvenient. I asked the guy if he can please drive the car to the correct spot but he told me that I had to do it because he didn't have a drivers license. Electricity kept going off..The list goes on, so basically please do not waste your money on this horrible hotel. Please Stay Away!!!!!!!!
