Best Hotel for Location
Stayed at Clarion Park Ave. for 4 day Thanksgiving weekend - first time in NYC. Room was 11 ft X 11 ft to include a 4 ft x 6 ft bathroom-twin bed, desk, nightstand, TV with HBO, small window overlooking a brick wall, floor squeaked with every step. If you are prepared for a cozy/claustrophobic stay at Clarion Park Ave., you can't beat the location. Two minute walk from front door to the left or right will get you to the Lexington Ave #6 subway heading uptown & downtown. Easy walk from front door to many tourist attractions and food places. (Midtown streets are very scenic so you may never even use a subway)

Quick jaunt to NYC
The hotel was efficient and everything I wanted it to be. It was a great location for my purposes at a decent price. The room was cute and small, like I expected it to be. The only negatives were that the elevator was very small and my fiance and I got bedbugs. I had heard that NYC had a bedbug problem...so I wasn't too upset, but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't like that.

Not worth it
Tiny room, totally out-dated, windows that don't open, a/c that didn't work, and the most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept in. At any price it would be hard to justify staying here, the only mild positive being the location.

A Less Expensive NYC Hotel Option
Stayed at this hotel while visiting my daughter in NYC. Hotel was fine for my purposes since I spent very little time there. Small room and bored staff, but good location and decent continental breakfast.

one night trip to new york
Service and staff were very good, extremely small room, but since I was only there for a short time worked for me, Definately a one person room, felt the hallways and elevator were small also. Overall fair value for that good location.

Simple but nice
This hotel is very centrally located in Midtown, making accessing museums, stores, and all other tourist venues very easy. It is also close to the subway, and there are plenty of cabs, in the case that you want to go farther than walking will permit. My room was tiny, and I was lucky to have come with only a small carry-on bag. Anything larger would have been difficult to fit. The bed was very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom -- also tiny -- was spotless. My room did not face the street, meaning that I didn't have to hear the noise from the street below. The breakfast was simple but filling. The one bad thing that I can say is that I had requested a non-smoking room but was given one in which someone had obviously been smoking quite heavily. There was even an ashtray, which meant that they had actually given me a smoker's room. The staff were all very nice.

Short walk from hotel
You are close enough to the two large department stores Macy's and Lord & Taylor, as well as loads of other stores. There are also several bookstores, if that interests you.
