Beds are a little soft and noisy, and pillows are not good, but overall this is a nice place to stay.

A unique well kept spot
This was a nice room. I was concerned when they described it as "Petite" room, but I didn't think it was that small. This was my first trip to NY, so I cannot speak to how it matches up to other hotels in the area. The room was very clean and the hotel was well maintained. The TV was a small flat panel with a buzz on most channels, but I didn't go to NY to watch TV. I would stay there again.

Not Worth the Price
The street noise was endless - 4am and there were still people partying and arguing below my window (which wasn't well insulated. The grout in the tub/shower was black in many places and there was mold growing along the edge of the shower door. I abandoned my 2-day reservation after the first night. On the plus side, staff was very friendly and helpful and the building is unique and beautiful. But there are much better hotels and inns for the same or less $$.

Memorable
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Blue Moon Hotel and wish I could have afforded to stay longer. Still, the price I paid was a bargain for a 4-star hotel in NYC. The Blue Moon has a lot of character; the rooms, if mine was representative, are spacious, aesthetically pleasing, clean, and so comfortable that it's tempting to just kick back and stay in. I think that my room was actually one of the smallest in the hotel, and it was easily large enough for two people, certainly larger than any single I've stayed in before in NYC. You can tell that the hotel is a labor of love. Subway's close by. Little Italy and Chinatown just a short walk. I'll return to the Blue Moon if I ever have the chance.

A stay in the past
This hotel was wonderful. It was built in the 1800's and The Blue Moon has done a fantastic job maintaining the quality and history of the hotel and decorating. The room was impeccable and came with a mini-fridge stocked with sodas and waters. (No Charge). The tub was fashioned from the time period and was heavenly in it's size. The front staff was very pleasant and shared recommendations for place to eat. I am looking forward to returning in the fall when the jazz club will be completed.
