Good for short stay
Overall is good. There are two metro stations nearby. The only problem was that I found some hair on my bed. Hotels in NY are always too expensive. This place has a decent price tag.

Surprise meeting
I was in the city for a surprise meeting. The staff at the hotel was very understanding in letting us hang out in the lobby all day long. Compassion and respect are lacking today and I really appreciate the hospitality the Hotel offered myself, my guest and my "surprise" I will never forget my experience with the Blue Moon. The hotel was neat and clean and I felt right at home. Thank you

Our favorite NYC Hotel
Charming hotel that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling of home away from home. Great location for touring NYC, great restaurants within walking distance, and the best coffee in NYC 2 minutes from the hotel. We can't wait for our next visit to NYC and the Blue Moon Hotel.

A unique well kept spot
This was a nice room. I was concerned when they described it as "Petite" room, but I didn't think it was that small. This was my first trip to NY, so I cannot speak to how it matches up to other hotels in the area. The room was very clean and the hotel was well maintained. The TV was a small flat panel with a buzz on most channels, but I didn't go to NY to watch TV. I would stay there again.

Charming little N.Y. hotel
The Blue Moon is just a darling place. We loved being there. It felt safe and cozy, absolutely clean. The F subway takes one immediately to any 6th Avenue location, or there is an easy transfer to the West Side. It's actually quite nice to be downtown, away from the rush of the city. It is a good neighborhood, walking distance to Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho. I highly recommend the Blue Moon!

WE LOVED THE HOTEL-EVERYTHING
WE LOVED THE HOTEL-EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. WE WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. THE AREA WAS A LITTLE SKETCHY AT NIGHT BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT A LOT OF LIGHTING AS IN OTHER PARTS OF THE CITY. HOWEVER, WE REALLY ENJOYED WALKING THE AREA SUNDAY MORNING-MANY PUSH CARTS AND INTERESTING STORES WERE OPEN.

Great value for the location
On check-in we were warmly greeted and given a glass of wine. The rooms were generously sized, tastefully decorated and super clean. This was a bargain by NYC standards. Later we walked by the "other" hotel we were going to book and both gave a high-five for have chosen the Blue Moon. We had a slow drain in our shower the first morning. When we brought it up to the front desk, it was quickly taken care of that same day. No more shower or room issues at all. The continental breakfast each morning was not lavish but it was adequate, quiet, and clean. The bagels and pastries were first class and the selection of teas was extensive. Good location --- walking distance to Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, and subway lines. Because the hotel is tucked away on a sidestreet, the noise level at night was minimal. Aside from the ocassional door slam of another guest, the entire stay was peaceful. The staff was friendly and helpful. You got the feeling that they liked working there and cared about their guests. Attention to detail is the norm at the Blue Moon. We'll definitely stay here again.

Nice place, terrible noise problem.
Very nice place in an okay part of town. Great view and the staff were nice. Did not sleep an ounce though. The noise from the street below and a party or bar scene made it a miserable experience. And we stayed on the top floor!!!

Not Worth the Price
The street noise was endless - 4am and there were still people partying and arguing below my window (which wasn't well insulated. The grout in the tub/shower was black in many places and there was mold growing along the edge of the shower door. I abandoned my 2-day reservation after the first night. On the plus side, staff was very friendly and helpful and the building is unique and beautiful. But there are much better hotels and inns for the same or less $$.
