New Year's in New York
My wife and I just spent the New Year in NYC and stayed at the Beekman Tower Hotel. We walked in the door and checked right in. We headed to our room which was more then what we expected. A full kitchen, ironing board and iron, queen bed, bathroom, cable tv, and central heat and air. We loved everything about this place. We cooked breakfast every morning saving us a lot of money on food and even enjoyed a few dinners in our room. We ate dinner the last night in the restaurant on the 26th floor and what a view. The food was delicious and we enjoyed each others company over looking the Hudson river and city skyline. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again. It was only 5 blocks from Rockafeller and 6 blocks to time square. Great location but you still could fall a sleep at night b/c the noise was very minimal to none. Loved it and recommend it.

Great Views
Was on a girl trip with 7 other women. We stayed 4 to a room(One bedroom suite) Was plenty comfortable enough. We did not spend a lot of time in the room but I'm sure it would have been fine had we had to spend a lot of time there. It is not that far to walk to Grand Central Station or to bus stop. The store across the street was also nice. It was our first time to visit NYC, and we all loved it. Can't wait to go back. We might try staying closer to Times Square next time but would not be opposed to staying at the Beekman either! The view from the room was great.

like an apartment, good buy for the money
This is a one bedroom apartment. Kitchen, separate bath room next to the kitchen, dining area with extended living room, bedroom with full bath next to it. TV in the living room and bed room. large couch in the living room. Very spacious accomodation. Its an old building but clean and could use a makeover. Very close to the UN and there are delis and markets near by. Good location.

Wonderful New York value
I visit my daughter and her family fairly often and stayed at the Beekman for the first time. It will be my first choice from now on. Not only was it just four blocks away from their apartment, but it was extremely comfortable (with kitchen) comfortable bed and chairs. A coffee maker and morning newspaper made it a perfect experience. And the price was amazing!

Good Location, Great Staff
The Beekman Tower Hotel is an excellent hotel for a stay in NYC. The staff are very helpful and pleasant (this was our 3rd stay, and the staff have been top-notch each time). The 1-bedroom suite is an excellent, spacious accomodation. In addition to a living room (with sofa bed) and bedroom, there is a full kitchen, complete with stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, plates, utensils, pans, etc. There is a market one block west and a half-block south to stock the fridge at a reasonable cost. The mid-town location is good--walking distance to the Theatre District, shopping, and restaurants, and the corner the hotel is located on is a great place to hail a cab. And if you are looking for a great meal, try St. Andrews Pub in the Theatre District, where the bartenders wear kilts, and the kitchen is open late!!

Great Location/Lots of Room
This was our first trip to NYC. The Beekman was located within walking distance to subway, dining and shopping. We had a full kitchen, dining table, living area, bedroom, vanity area and closet and a full bath. Also, our daughters accomadations had 2 balcony's! We had coffee and cheesecake in the evening and just took in the NY skyline and noise. We never expected to have so much room. We would recommend this hotel to everyone. We are already planning our next NYC trip! We will be staying at the Beekman!!!

Nice family size room!
The best thing about the Beekman Towers was the room size. My husband and I visited with our 3 kids, and were thrilled to have a one bedroom suite, which meant we had our own bedroom and TV and the kids had the living room with a pullout couch and their own TV. It was awesome at the end of a long day in NYC to come back to the hotel, and each have our own space! It was also nice having a kitchen, and we ate breakfast in every morning, which saved us some money. The little grocery store right across the street was great, with reasonable prices, great coffee and bagels, and good bedtime snacks for the kids!! It wasn't luxurious, but was clean and a great value for the money, especially with the kids along. I would definitely stay again if we were taking the whole family.

They had everything we needed, including ice to fill our cooler for the trip home, plus great coffee, bagels, Ben & Jerry's ice cream for a bedtime snack, and YooHoos!

Not a good place to stay
This hotel was in a neighborhood near nothing of interest. It was terribly maintained: the there was no a.c. in my bedroom, light bulbs were missing, the tv was located in a cabinet that did not face the bed--you couldn't look at it from the bed and there was no chair. The next day I moved to another room. Again, missing or burned out light bulbs and a lamps stand disconnected from the plug, which was behind the bed and inaccessible until a maintenance man came up and moved the bed; the public TV channel was blurred and filled with lines. Also, wireless connectivity cost $19.95 a night, and was the only access available to Internet. The rooms were dingy; the bathtub so used looking I didn't want to use it. I found the dishwasher in the kitchenette running at 6 a.m., stuck on Dry, and I hadn't even turned it on--and the dishes in it were still wet so it wasn't even drying! When I wrote a note that the dishwasher wasn't working and gave it to the man at the front desk, he couldn't have seemed less interested, and it was still sitting there on the counter 15 minutes later. I would NEVER go to this hotel again.

Great Staff, Lots of room
Having stayed in a small little room at other New York hotels, where I couldn't even close the bathroom door, the Beekman was a delight. I had 4 rooms - large bedroom, large living room, small kitchen and nice bath, two TVs. Hard to believe I was in NY! I had to walk to Time Square, but I sure got a lot of exercise. If I had to do it again, I would stay off the beaten path at the Beekman. I don't like invasive maid service and my do not disturb sign was respected. Most other places I have stayed, they barge in anyway. I felt welcome there and there was none of that formal pretentiousness that you see from some hotel staff.
