Very Family Friendly

Our experience was a very positive one other then the fact that the maid din not make up the room or bringing fresh towels one day. It had a good location. It was convenient to public transportation, stores and a nearby diner. They upgraded our room. It was very clean and well taken care of. The staff was very pleasant and helpful from the moment that we arrived.

There is a diner located across the street from the hotel called the Nation's Diner. The food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced and the waiters were very pleasant.

Great location, run down and not clean hotel

The Beekman hotel has a great location, close to the UN and within walking distance to MOMA. The bar roof terrace has great views, although the drinks are expensive (you pay for the view), and the food mediocre at best. However the apartment was not very clean, there was trash under the bed (a forgotten book, used tissues, bits of candy wraps), and dust all over the furniture. The bathrooms and the kitchen cleaning seemed to have been done with the same sponge/cloth, as there was hair everywhere when we first got to the room, and after the next morning cleaning. Stuff is friendly and courteous, but the hotel seems run down and in need of renovation(the bathroom ceiling, tub, walls had mold).

Great For Extended Family

We were absolutely delighted when we entered our room and got the first glimce. It was immaculate and much bigger than we had expected. It was perfect for us as we had my friend's 23 year old daughter with us. She had her own bed and tv. She was thrilled. Our bed was soooo comfortable. I enjoyed watching TV with the sleep timer until I fell asleep. Soemtimes I have trouble sleeping in hotels, but not there. We were in NYC to see a Broadweay show. After walking all day long we didn't want to walk back to the theater for several reasons. We walked outside the hotel and were able to hail a cab immediately. I would have loved to stayed longer and taken advantage of all the amenities we did not have time to enjoy.

Great New York Experience

I loved the Beekman Hotel because of its historic architecture (I love art deco), its great location (I could easily walk to MOMA, Rockefeller Center, Sak's 5th Avenue, etc), and the fact that it was unique. You didn't feel like you were in a chain hotel that could've been in any city. I really felt like I had a unique NYC experience here. I was so excited with my room upgrade. I had a kitchenette, living room with 2 desks, couch and coffee table, and a separate bedroom and bath. The view out my window of the NY skyline was also thrilling. I felt like I was in an apartment instead of a hotel. I will definately recommend this hotel to friends and try to stay there again in the future.

Friendly and helpful staff

It is difficult to find moderately priced hotels in NYC. The Beekman fit the bill well. The staff was helpful and the room surprised us insofar as it had a separate siting area. We knew that it was close to the UN, where we wanted to be. However, the one possible disadvantage of this location is that it is not particularly close to a subway stop. The stop wasn't far away -- about a 10-15 minute walk -- and the advantage of the location is that it was very quiet.

Four very satisfied women

Four of us women travelled to New York and shared a room at the Beekman Tower Hotel. All of us truly enjoyed our stay and especially the very attentive friendly service we recieved from the Beekman staff. The staff was very knowlegable of the sites and restaurants and we were not dissapointed of their recomendations. The room was clean and large for a New York Hotel. The room offered a kitchen with microwave, stove, full fridge, toaster and coffee machine. The room also had a separate bedroom and living room area with a sofa bed. The location was about 4 blocks from the busy downtown core which was a nice walk and only about a $4.40 taxi ride to wherever we wanted to go. The Hotel also offered a dining room on the top floor which offered a spectacular view of the city. We our definatley looking forward to our next stay at the Beekman next time we are in New York.

Loads of shopping within a few blocks of the hotel. Major shopping is about 4 blocks and Grand Central Terminal as well as subways are about 15 min walk. A grocery store is located across the street from the hotel which was great to purchase fruits/milk and snacks to enjoy in your hotel room.

My review of Beekman Tower Hotel

This hotel was great. It's located right by the U.N. and within waling distance to other attractions. For an older hotel, the room was actually much bigger than expected. The hotel staff was also very attentive and helpful.

Great value

This was the fourth hotel we've stayed in while in New York and our favorite. The staff is very friendly and helpful (we locked the bathroom door on accident and they were up faster than we could hang up the phone). The room was very large for the three adults that stayed there. I was very surprised by how nice this hotel was for the price. We will definitely stay here again.

Run Down Hotel

The hotel was poorly run and basically check in was slow and inefficient. The rooms were poorly maintained (Air Conditioning did not work, so they had a large portable unit put in a small room with no room to walk in. The manager did upgrade me to a room that was barely adequate, but only after my insistence that the room was neither clean nor adequate to stay in. Her explanation was that this hotel is old and is in need of repair.
