Three stars is right!

We definitely had a three star experience at this hotel. It was clean and had a decent price, and we were hardly there as we were out sight seeing every day. It was a 10-15 dollar cab ride to get anywhere in the vacinity we needed to go which was nice. The rooms are a bit out dated but we didn't really care about that. Had a bad plumbing experience and got a little surprise from our neighboring room which was a bit gross. Kitchen came with a fridge and a stove which was convenient. Maid came and tried to open our door several times each morning...annoying. The upstairs restaurant had a great view but was outrageously priced, even for New York standards. When we were leaving, the hotel offered a flat rate coach car to the airport which was great, and said tip was included. When the lady dropped us off, she told us tip was not included so we had to tip her just to make sure so someone wasn't telling up the correct information. Overall, for a place to crash while sightseeing its in a decent location, close to alot, and in a safe neighborhood. Hotel staff was friendly as well.

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Walking will save you money! Follow the street the hotel is on all the way to the heart of the city, (1 or 2 miles) and you are in the heart of most of the action. Walking to your destination while you have the energy will save you alot of money as cab rides tend to add up!

Great hotel for an awesome price!

I was thrilled with the deal on this hotel a week before Christmas. Not a far walk to Times Sqaure, room was spacious with a kitchen area, sofa and lots of space. The only problem was the heat made a loud noise, but we weren't in the room long enough to care. Staff was friendly with valet and honored our request for a room with a great view for my girlfriend's birthday!! Will def stay there again!!

HORRIBLE!

I DID NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AFTER SEEING THE CONDITION OF THE ROOM, WHICH WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! THE PULL OUT TWIN SIZED SOFA IN OUR "SUITE" WOULD NOT HAVE ACCOMMODATED A DOG! IT WAS STAINED AND FALLING APART AND WE HAD FOUR PEOPLE TO ACCOMMODATE, WHICH WAS NOT HAPPENING HERE! CALLED ORBITZ AND CANCELLED HOTEL AND FOUND MY OWN! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT COMPARED TO THE PICTURES I LOOKED AT ON THE WEBSITE. I ALSO HAD CHECKED WITH THE HOTEL BEFORE ARRIVAL AND THEY SAID ALL THE SLEEPER SOFAS WERE NEW....NOT TRUE!

NYC was fabulous!!!!

I went to NYC with 3 other people for my birthday and had a fabulous time. BK is walking distance to Times sq and 6 blocks from tthe subway. There is a convienence store across the street and a grocery store with a buffet a block away. The room was great studio suite w/sofa bed it held 4 people nicely. We shopped all day and partied alnight. We were only in the room to sleep. The hotel had not turned their heat on yet and I was cold. They provided me with blankets and a heater. The staff was super friendly and helpful especially Liam.

Great location & value for NYC

This hotel is a hidden secret to stay inexpensively, safely and conveniently in NYC. Located next to United Nations, in upper mid town it was a nice island of peace after taking on the city each day. Parking @ $ 38 per 24 hours is available 1 1/2 blocks away. We left the car at the garage and cabbed and subwayed to shopping and restaurants. Great view but overpriced, bland food at Top of the Tower on 26th floor.

Average for NYC

Hotels in NYC are expensive, and they don't offer much in return. This hotel cost us about $215 per night (for 3 people), yet it is barely a two-star hotel. The rooms are not particularly clean, have some old tainted furniture, there is neither breakfast nor wifi included. But that's how the hotels in NYC are. Anywhere else, for the same price you would be staying in a 4-star or 5-star hotel. It is not because the rooms are more expensive in NYC - this hotel has 26 floors. Rather, it is because they can charge you all that money and you really don't have many other options. I wouldn't stay there again - it was too expensive for the quality. You can find similar quality for about 150 dollars in smaller hotels, and you can rent a small apartment for the same money (about $150 per day). But, it is not the worst option either, so if they give you a nice room on a higher floor you may end up with an excellent view of the city...
