Great stay

It was clean, convenient, friendly, and with surprisingly large rooms, considering the area. Not a lot of extras, but what they did, they did well.

Nothing special

This hotel had very good reviews in almost all travel websites we checked, however we were rather disappointed with it: the room was small for a 4 star hotel, a bit shabby and old and I think could do with some redecorating (to be fair there ware no mould in the bathroom, cobwebs and hanging wallpaper, but overall the hotel and room did not give cheerful impression as the other travellers suggested in their reviews) . The staff was very friendly, there was free wireless internet, but no tea making facilities. Bathroom was a reasonable size. I would expect a bit better rooms for a 4 star hotel. Would recommend if you are not going to spend much time in the room and have a good deal on the price and therefore all disadvantages wouldn't matter because you did not pay much. I certainly would not pay full price.

Nice

Good location friendly staff. Great bar. Restaurant was ok. Break fast was not good at all. No hot water even though they said they would increase the temperature. We spent four days with lukewarm showers.

I have been to NY for my business. It is located at 32nd st., so we could have both Korean food and American food. just one thing than I was not so satisfied is transportation. Anyway, I'm so pleased with the above hotel.

Looks nice but not as described

[...] Room was not what I paid for, supposedly it was an executive suite, but it had two queens instead of 1 king. The jacuzzi and bidet were missing from the description of an executive suite. While I was trying to check in, another front desk person was discussing options with another guest about the lack of jacuzzi, so it sounds like a common complaint. (Options were another room, or $40 off, which I wasn't offered)Room was otherwise as described, wall paper gave it a homey feel, shower and rooms were clean. Guest refrigerator was not cold at all, no coffee maker, no ice bucket (not sure if there was even an ice maker, never looked). Beds were very firm.Shower was small, there was no lower faucet to adjust the temperature without getting hit by the water. Temp. adjustments were too hot or too cold, difficult to find a comfortable middle. On checkout, front desk wanted to charge me for a minibar item, but myself nor my guest even opened the fridge. Not sure if I got charged or not, they were going to check the fridge to see if anything was missing...This place looks nice, and has potential, but without giving guests the perks listed in the description in the room I cant see why anyone would want to stay here.

Semi ok

They checked me into the wrong room. The service was rude. The maids kept walking into my room over and over and over even with the Do Not Disturb sign up. The mini bar was missing a few items and I don't know if I was charged for it, because they didn't give me a receipt and refused to offer me one!

Great Location

Overall our stay was very positive. The staff was helpful and friendly - we were able to check in at about 10:30 am, which was great. The room was nice - not too small (plenty of room for a couple of chairs, a small table and a desk without feeling cramped). The room was also very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. My only complaint (and it wouldn't keep from staying there again) was that the bathroom was pretty small - with no real place to set anything. I enjoy the street noise when I go to New York, so I didn't mind that it was really loud, but its something to keep in mind for anyone who doesn't appreciate that particular New York experience. There is free coffee in the lobby, but I found it to be sort of weak and lukewarm - and while I appreciated it the first morning, I went out and picked up coffee on the second morning (coffee shops within one block). The location was excellent - close to good Korean food and the 2nd Ave Deli. Easy walking distance to the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Penn Station and moderate walking distance to Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. Very easy access (a block or two) to subways and very very easy access to buses going all directions.

quiet , spacious & spacious but...

Friendliness of staff and room size was excellent for midtown Manhatten.A welcome folder in the room would be appreciated, e.g. bathrobes available upon request, breakfast is extra ($19.99). Our adult daughter joined us for nights (extra $60/pm) and did not realize the breakfast buffet was extra. Surprise! It was added to the room charge. Our refrigerator did not work on arrival and our safe was locked. Maintenance responded promptly when we called the front desk. The complimentary coffee and tea are luke warm. A less fancy electric tea pot would avoid part of that problem. Not being a city couple, we were not prepared for having to leave the hotel for everything. With such a pleasant staff and room size, the Vincci could greatly increase guest comfort with a few simple conveniences; in-room hotel info on wifi password, robes, breakfast options, actual hot coffee and tea water, and a plate of cookies for tired guests. Positives: quiet area, 1 block from subway (6 train), large room, they held our bags till eve on departure day so that we were free to move about, quickly responsive to requests.

Dirty beds

The hotel is decent, staff is friendly & nice. My complaint is about the bed. Though they upgraded my room when I checked in, one of the televisions didn't work, My beds where dirty. It was as if someone had thrown dirt rocks or sand under the covers. I told the front desk when checking out. Even though they apologized it still didn't take away from the fact the beds were never cleaned. The hotel didn't offer any other future accommodations & said, I should have complained about it when i first saw the problem. Never again.
