Christmas at the Andaz

Stayed at the Andaz Wall Street for four nights over Christmas. Welcome was reasonably pleasant and check-in was fairly swift and uncomplicated. Had requested adjacent rooms but were given rooms on different floors - was too tired to question it. Were informed that some of the facilities - like the spa and gym were still unavailable due to flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy. Doors to the rooms are controlled by RFID cards - which you need to press up against the door lock above the handle - the light will turn green once the door is unlocked. Rooms were large and well appointed, including a large flat screen tv. The lights and window blind are controlled by a wall mounted control panel, allowing different lighting levels. Room was cleaned to a good standard daily - with towels / bedding replaced upon request. There are free snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the mini-bar which are replaced daily - the alcohol is NOT free with 200ml bottles of spirits being $28 and the bottles of beer are $8. Local telephone calls are also included - helpful when arranging our return transfer to the airport. Room service was fairly efficient with a reasonable selection - although a delivery charge of $5, a service charge of 18% and New York Sales Tax have to be added on to the menu price. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay here if I was to be in New York again.

The entrance to the hotel is on Water Street - not Wall Street - be sure to inform taxi companies of this otherwise you will be waiting on a different side of the building.

Great Place to Stay!

My friend and I were going to New York for a girl's weekend. While everything else we looked at was way over $400 for a Saturday night, we found this hotel for less than $300. Now granted, it's not in the liveliest of spots for a Saturday night, but a $14 cab ride to the hot spots sure sounded a lot cheaper than an extra $100 hotel room. The staff were friendly and welcoming! Found our room easily. Large bathroom with normal amenities. But it was the features of the room and bathroom that made you feel like you paid a lot more than $300. Not too far from Ground Zero and the NYSE. Great location, just keep in mind you'll pay for transportation to and from the main attractions, but it's a lot less than what you would spend on a hotel closer! AND they even held our luggage for us while we went sightseeing. Great place, I would highly recommend it.

Great hotel, quiet location

Stayed at ANdaz for weekend stay. Hotel was fantastic... Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was large for manhattan standards. Free snacks were a bonus. Location in lower Manahatten was much quieter and relaxing. Nice to be away from the time square area but just a short subway ride away. Would definitly stay here again.

Great Stay

The location was wonderful, and the modern room was unique and exciting. The King size suite had an incredible shower/tub combo area. The complementary snacks and beverages were a very nice touch. My wife was pleasantly surprised at how much more comfortable she was in New York City when we left our hotel in Time Square and moved to the Andaz.

Spectacular Prada style hotel!

The front desk staff is stunningly efficient with Prada like flair. Hotel amenities are impeccable. As a veteran business traveler I very rarely comment on the merits of any hotel. This is a first. With that being said, Andaz 75 Wall Street is one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. The location is excellent, the staff are professional as well as efficient, the rooms are superb, the spa is solid, in-room minibar is well stocked, beds and pillows are generous, the modern electronic room environment controls are the best I have experienced to date. Restaurant is outstanding with a strong wine list. There is a passion for excellence at the Andaz that is rarely seen in todays competitive hotel industry. It is just not just a stay in town it is an experience! This is my hotel of choice when in New York from now on, no more Plaza or Palace for me. Thank you Andaz...... Great Hotel in fantastic location

June 2012 This is my second visit to New York, the first being in 2010 when I stayed in a hotel just off Times Square that was the same price as I paid for my 4 Nights in the Hyatt Andaz Wall Street; however there is no comparison between the two. The rooms in the Hyatt are spacious, modern in design and very clean, the bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. The addition of complementary soft drinks and snacks from the in room mini bar was also a very nice touch. All coffees, tea etc were complementary in the reception sitting area and between 5pm and 7pm each evening there was free wine as well! Did not personally use the gym but did take a look in, and was spacious and well equipped. In terms of location I much preferred Wall Street to Times Square, it is more civilised and with the hotel being in the heart of the financial district there is still more than enough to do, with lovely bars and restaurants nearby. It’s a short walk to Battery Park and 5 mins to Wall Street subway station where they are 3 subway routes running directly into Times Square in 10 mins, so you’re not too far away from Broadway , Shopping etc, if your after shops make sure you check out Century 21 which is a 10 min walk away from the hotel. Some people may not like the thought of the subway for getting around but I found it reliable, air conditioned! and very safe, even at night. Negatives, the only one I would point out is that the breakfast menu is expensive, coffee $6 and hot dishes between $16 and $26. However the food was very good. My booking with e bookers included free breakfast each day so took this pain away, try to book a similar deal. Overall a great hotel one I would defiantly go back to.
