Perfect for the Realistic New Yorker

If you're looking to nitpick a hotel on details, do not stay here. But, if you're an NYC-minded realist who just needs a safe, affordable, convenient and relatively comfortable place to sleep for an overnight, this was a fantastic solution.

budget hotel in a prime location

Amsterdam Court is in the middle of the theater district with great restaurants and a perfect launching spot for walks in every direction. The hotel is modest and far from fancy, but it's clean, safe, and quiet, and its staff is courteous and helpful. If you're looking for a budget place to stay that meets your basic requirements while you are out and about in the city, consider staying there.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Gabriel's Restaurant is just off Columbus Circle, a nice ten-block walk up 7th Ave or Broadway to W 60th St. Pricey but fantastic Italian cuisine, populated by show folks and media types. Zagat rated.

Would stay again

The staff was VERY friendly and helpful in getting tickets and a car for the airport. Room was not spacious, but I don't go to NYC to sit in a hotel room! The location is fantastic.

Looking for a good little hotel - Found it

My wife has always wanted to go to New York so for Christmas and our anniversary I bought her a trip to New York. I looked around for hotels near Times SQ and the Theater district. I found this gem. Yes the room was small, but it was clean, comfortable, had a cold AC, and a hot showers. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The hotel is just around the corner from Times SQ and you can walk to Central Park. The subway was on the corner so the WHOLE CITY was at your finger tips. Use the money you save to eat good and tour the city. WE WILL BE COMING BACK AND WE WILL STAY HERE.

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

Do not buy the first thing you see. Prices vary greatly. Also read the entire ad/description before you commit. Several of the bike cabs have the prices posted on the side ranging from $1.99 to $4.00 per minute (we did not take one). The $1.99 per was also per person and others were $3.00 per ride (no matter how many people). Loved the PIZZA.

fantastic couple getaway to visit New York

Good location near Times Square. This simple, nice and charming Hôtel is one of the best I had in New York (Times square area) with an affordable price. Recommend it for couple or friends or solo travellers. good restaurants around. Good staff. The only négatif point is that you have to pay for internet But it is fast and good connection. The French Canadian

Amazing location

The hotel was a lot nicer than I was expecting, considering the great location and reasonable rates! Everything was clean, the staff were very helpful, and we could not have asked for a better location - so close to all the shows and it was also very close to a lot of subway lines. Will definitely stay here again!
