NY for the first time
Great Location, but
This was my first time in NYC and everything was great except for the bedding in the hotel room. The hotel location was great, staff was helpful and quick to take care of my situation when I reported it. Another guest complained of bedbugs and he was switched to a new room. Overall I would recommed the hotel, but with reservations.

Great location, room so-so
Room was really small, barely enough room to open the door. No chair, no table, no closet. But for one person or a couple who aren't going to spend much time in the room other than sleeping it was okay. Things were clean. Location was outstanding.

Mostly OK
Good location on W50th off Broadway. Frontdesk staff and doorman/bellman was some what offended that I decided to intrude on their work day by staying in their hotel. Clearly needs a more energized sense of customer service and respect. Several interantion patrons of the hotel were receiving the same type of treatment. I was ashamed. The room was typical of the city in size. Both elevators worked well and stairways were well lighted and safe. Cleanliness was not a problem. The bathroom was spotless, linens were fresh, and the bed was firm. A/C cooled the room quickly and the TV worked. Bar and restaurant were very busy. If the mangement would help cultivate a calm sense of service and hospitaliy with the first floor staff this hotel will soar!

Amsterdam Hotel ...
Very Clean,quiet and neat but the rooms were really small; but the rooms and the hotel were very modernt and the staff were really nice and attentive.

Great location, good price, ok service
Hotel was located at a great location right in theater district and a few blocks from timesquare. Price was good for what you got. Service was ok. Room was cleaned but towels were never replaced without reminders and keys stopped working night before checkout. Friendly staff quickly fixed problem when alerted.

Expected more from the reviews and pix.
TV troubles, was burned in shower because the cold water didn't work & hot water got extremely hot.(They comp. a breakfast for it). On 6th floor and both elevators were out. Restaurant was good, location not bad at all. Staff pretty good. Older hotel with some new updates. Overall, not a bad hotel for the price, but the pix look nicer than it really is.

CBC AKA COLD BUT CONVIENENT!!!!
A friend and I were visiting NY to see a friend do a musical show. We knew we would be out soaking up the city and embracing the weather lol, and not spending much time in the room!Well much to our dismay, our room was freezing!!!( renovations in the next room over...the bathroom was cold and the windows needed to be resealed or something. However, the room/bathroom were cleaned.So,when travelling this time of season request extra portable heater and blankets... and make sure there is no renovation being done to rooms nearby..or a change of room!! pro- got to checking early early, hotel staff are nice..great sushi lounge on the premises cons- our particular room was cold!!
