Within walking distance of everything! Doesnt have a restaurant or breakfast in the hotel but in NYC the options within walking distance are endless! I would stay there every time for the value and location!

Nice hotel once it's done w renos
Seems the hotel has undergone a number of renos recently, and it's looking quite good, but there are some pretty big issues remaining - like key cards that don't always work with their new system; not getting any hot water in the shower (but it ran hot in the sink - weird); a disconnected phone (though it was plugged into the wall); and a broken towel rack in the bathroom. Not what I'd expect from a hotel that charges $500+ a night. Still, an amazing location and super comfy bed.

coincerge was lousy
I asked if I could grt help getting reservations to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio Center Music Hall and was told that he would helpus get reservations. This action was on the evening of our arrival. He did not get the reservations for us nor did he tell me Why until we checked out . I am not used to being treated this way and I will not use this hotel again.

Fantastic location and price.
Fantastic location and price. Amazing price for discount parking in the area. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The rooms are old and outdated. Currently under renovation and i expect it to look great once its finished.

New York Visitor
Retro and Great
The hotel is located very close to Time Square, and the David Letterman Show is just next door. The hotel was reasonably priced, and I plan to stay there again in the future.

BAD HOTEL
HORRIBLE
SECURITY ISSUES. A/C DID NOT WORK. BED WAS SO OLD IT CREAKED EVERY TIME YOU MOVED. FILTHY.HORRIBLE. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. WINDOW GLASS WAS SO THIN THAT YOU COULD HEAR PEOPLE CONVERSING OUTSIDE. YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO STAY THERE AGAIN. THE WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN NEW YORK. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GIVE IT A STAR.

Ameritania
At first I was disillusioned being given a second floor room at the top of a flight of stairs. The room turned out to be nicely remodeled in a Jonathan Adler sort of design and not as over the top as the lobby. I would definitely bring earplus and an eye mask as the ac and street traffic can be noisy during the night. Notwithstanding, the location was great as was the price of the room. I had drinks at Vlada's on 51st--a neighborhood gay bar friendly for all ages. Dinner next door at Braii---African cuisine with a Dutch touch. In the a.m. had eggs and lox at Carnegie Deli just a block away as well. Then walked to Central Park and to the Met to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit. Not bad for a night on the town.

Angelo's Restaurant & Pizza. Right next to hotel. Excellent food. Best grilled chicken with green salad & Portobello mushrooms I ever ate. Great Food! They serve pastas & pizzas also.
