Shelburne is a great Value, great location

Despite a rather uncommunicative front desk employee that basically just handed me my keys when I checked in, the hotel is super close to my office, and only a block from tons of great restaurants on 3rd Ave. Also just a few blocks to run the East River Greenway and a mile or so from Central Park. I'll stay there again

25th Anniversary trip to New York

We recommend booking a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel which wasn't to costly and made our arrival and return to the airport smooth. On our arrival at the hotel we were welcomed at the hotel with a big smile by reception. Booking in was simple and quick and we were in our room within 5 minutes of arriving. The room was spacious and very clean and modern looking. Bathroom great with shower and bath all sorts of goodies to use as we women like. Good coffee or tea machine which is great in the morning, there is also a well stocked mini bar but you can get drinks downstairs from the Bar grill if you want and bring back to your room as we did or you can also get room service. They came and cleaned your room every day and the bed was so comfy! Our view wasn't great as we looked at another building but this was expected as New York is so built up but it was quiet, we were on the 3rd floor. The wine hour that the hotel had each night was very relaxing and a good way of talking to people if you wanted. We met a couple of lovely ladies on our first night one lived in New York and her sister was visiting and staying at the hotel, we had some interesting stories. Hotel staff are very helpful and go out of their way to give you the information you are looking for. We found New Yorkers to be very polite and they love to have a chat. If you need a taxi the Man dressed in his big overcoat looking very dapper at the front of the hotel will whistle one for you and what a great whistle he had they are very appreciative of a tip by the way. You will need a great pair of footwear as you will do so much walking and everyone seems to walk in trainers or sneakers as the Americans say - you will be glad of them by the end of the day. We also took a tour bus for 3 days as you will need the break from walking you can hop on and off these all day, this is a great way of getting round New York to see the sights. They turn up at a stop every 15 minutes so you are not hanging around to long and you also get a person giving tour history whilst the bus is moving. Hotel was situated in a great area everything is easy to get to there are great diners nearby that do a great breakfast at not much cost. We also ate in the Bar Grill belonging to the hotel the food was delicious and not to costly service is quick and attentive (we Brits have a lot to learn!) eating in New York was all good no matter where you ate. There is plenty to do day and night so much so that the 4 nights was not enough, my legs were telling me otherwise though! Shopping is good you can get everything and if you get a good exchange rate it makes the experience of buying even better. All in all our visit to New York was so exciting and the Hotel was the best we have stayed in in a city. We will be going again some time soon and using e-bookers again as this was our 1st experience with them and it was excellent!

City break

Was an excellent hotel perfect location. Staff helped with all enquiries about the city. The bar was great place to meet up morning for breakfast which were fantastic and evenings for a drink after a long day. Very lively but comfortable to have a drink. Bed and bedding was so comfortable only thing was furniture a little worn in the room and air con was noisy. Great shower too. The hotel was in the process of making a roof bar which will be great once finished with views of the city. We went up there to take some pics and take in the city at night. Overall a great hotel would stay there again.

Lovely Hotel

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. The room was a good size, especially for New York, very clean and the bed was very comfortable (most important). They have a happy hour in the lobby every day from 5:00 - 6:00 (I think) with free glasses of wine. I was pleasantly surprised to get a good glass of wine - which is usually not the case at hotels. I wish the hotel were not quite so far east as that made it a little off the beaten track for me. But other than that, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it and also stay there again.

Fantastic place to stay ,like being at home.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Affinia Shelburne for the duration of my stay in New York City. I was in between moving from my old place to my new residence when I was told I had to wait7-8 days before I could move in. I decided to stay at the Shelburne for those 8 days.everyone working at the hotel were very nice, curtious and extremely helpful in making me feel like I was at home. I'm sort of a night owl, called for maid service at night or late in the night, and very quietly they came attended the room and left. The front desk are some of the nicest professional staff I dealt with in a long time, fast and eager, to accommodate you. The bell hops and door man were very helpful with luggage, doors, and most of all directions. The food is amazing in the restaurant next to the lobby. Those 8 days I felt so comfortable I extended my stay for a total of 21 days. I went got my deposit back from the new place I was going to rent for the month. The Shelburne is a great place to expiriance. Jgvalentino

A Very Good Hotel

Staff were kind, efficient, knowledgeable and most helpful. The room was very clean, quiet, modern, and well appointed. The only drawback was that in-room internet access required an additional $14.95 payment...rather steep for one night. Murray Hill location was great. I would book another reservation at this hotel.
