Affinia Manhattan

had to wait nearly 2 hours to check in to room after 12 hours of travelling, not a great start. Was find until the last night when the hotel cancelled our room keys and told us we had only paid for 4 nights instead of 5. (which was not true) were told our card would be debited the extra night at a higher rate and if it was sorted the card would be credited. Went out only to find they cancelled our room keys again. Asked the next day about it and were casually told "oh yeah its fine." Thanks for messing up our holiday Affinia. On a plus side though the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic.

The hotel was in a great location -- within easy walking distance to lots of great places in the city. Staff was friendly and room was small, but clean. Would definitely consider staying here again. Great location for the price.

There were several issues during my stay at the Affinia Manhattan. The air conditioner in the bedroom was not working when I arrived. The staff fixed it. The wi-fi hook up worked very poorly and at $15 a day it was expensive for a lousy product. I asked for a late check out but they would not give it to me.

I have nothing but praise for the staff and management of the hotel we had a wonderful 4 nights in the hotel the staff were very helpful and polite the whole place was very clean and tidy and I would without hesitation recomend anybody to stay here. Oh and the meal we had in the resturant was the best we had all holiday!!

This hotel is in a great location a few minutes walking distance from MSG; this is great since this is a very central location and you can get to any place pretty easily but is also a bad location since there's FDNY and NYPD departments very very close so if you need a quiet environment (particularly to sleep) this is NOT the place for you. Staff is very friendly and hotel looks nice and clean. We got a good deal on the stay but i think there might be better options.

Stayed at The Affinia the weekend after Thanksgiving since we were there for a hockey game at Madison Square Garden. We were 2 blocks away from "Black Friday Madness" but things were calm around the hotel. Staff were very helpful and special requests handled promptly. Cleaning staf did a great job considering we were 4 peopl in a small room with alot of c.... The hotel was a bit warm but all the buildings were. I don't think they were expecting 60 degrees in Nov. All in all a good experience.

Staff friendly and helpful. This is the first hotel I have had to pay for wifi in the room. Very customer unfriendly. Room spacious and comfortable however, bathroom very small with no space for placing of toiletteries nor possibilty to hang up a towel. The rooms had obviously recently been renovated however, the workmanship left much to be desired for (tiling in the bathroom was appalling). The choice of washbasin is downright stupid. Vertical sides at right angles to the bottom. This is begging for accumulation of dirt and mold. The carpeting in the rooms was poorly laid. It all looks nice now but in 2-3 years?

Clean and LARGE room with 2 Queen size beds, helpful staff, perfect location for all sorts of activities. Only complaint is the room had frosted glass windows so hardly any light got in. Guess they wanted to mask view of wall next door but we missed seeing sky. However, all else was great and would definitely go again.

Had one small issue when we booked in which was IMMEDIATELY rectified (within five minutes of bringing it to staff attention) How good does that get? Room was newly decorated, very spacious and very well furnished. Staff were excellent and standards of cleanliness in whole hotel were very high. Perfectly placed for getting around Manhattan. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough

I am so glad Orbitz has this hotel as part of their flight/hotel package deals--I can't usually afford the Affinia, and they are wonderful--spacious rooms compared to most other NYC hotels, with kitchens! The location was great-across from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, and about a 15 minute walk to Broadway theatres. Plenty of great restaurants in walking distance and various stores/markets for incidentals or food for the room. The staff is friendly and helpful.
