the worst experience

the hotel doesn't deserve any star. The room is dark, too small and doesn't follow any standard for a hotel. Don't get fool by the nice lobby.

Central location

This was a second stay at this property in two years. The rooms are standard New York size and the amenities are standard. There is a very well-stocked mini bar if you're into that. The big bonuses of staying at the Ace: lobby bar/cafe is always a scene... it changes from coffee drinkers to a club atmosphere at night. It's fun if a little loud during the evening. There is a restaurant attached, which also has drinks later into the evening. Stumptown Coffee is served in a joining cafe to the front of the property.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Not a great value but good location in midtown. Stumptown coffee next door and live music in the lobby. Cool place to hangout. Cool and dark.

Fair accomondations

After being in the room no longner than a minute, a large roach took a stroll across the room. We coul not wait to leave for home the next day. While there we went to the Rose room at the Lincoln Center to hear an outstanding jazz program.

Great hotel and location, poor facilities

Great hotel and staff. Super location. Stylish and popular lobby, bar, coffee shop. Poor facilities ... (a) toilet bowl would not flush (dipper arm broken, had to fix it myself) (b) dusty, insufficient power outlets (c) *very* noisy in-room heater would inexplicably start vibrating and making loud sounds Need better attention to detail ... in addition to being cool!
