Good Location

I booked this hotel to be close to Manhattan without the Manhattan price. It was an average hotel, clean. Staff was pretty cool, let me check in super late (2 am) and let me extend my check out time to an hour later.

NYC Trip

The hotel overall wasnt too bad at all, considering the location, I guess the price is reasonable. THe neighborhood was quiet for the most part until the last night when I was awoken by a serious fight within a group of people. THey were so loud, I think it woke up half the hotel. Like I said, overall, it was nice and close to the subway, very nice. I'd go back.

Decent Place for Business traveller

Decent Place - Staff was not impolite, but not great either - very wooden and impersonal. Good clean room, good bathroom - 10 minutes walk from Queensboro plaza station - to downtown.

Good value for money and very close to Midtown

Firstly - hotel had a courtesy breakfast: average food, good juice, great added value. Didn't have to go out looking for food first time early in the morning (it starts at 6am). Room was small (first floor, No. 103). Surprisingly, it offered a Manhattan view. Bathroom was OK and it did have tissues (something I consider a test, besides cleanliness). Location is fine, close enough to two subway stations. Area doesn't appear very attractive but is safe (I used to live there). Value for money is OK - very good price compared to similar hotels in Manhattan. It is much closer to Midtown than some Manhattan areas (2-3 stops to Central Park, 5th Ave), but of course, if you want to be in the center of it all...

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

For non-Manhattan experience take the N or Q subway line to the last station - Astoria-Ditmars. Many great Greek restaurants. Try Kiklades on Ditmars Blvd (turn right after last stop). There are also several very good Japanese restaurants with much better prices than Manhattan's - Sakura, Watawa...

interviewing in Manhattan

When I arrived, I had to wait in line to check-in (which was promptly at 3p.m.); however, the front desk attendant was nice and she expedited my check-in. I opened the door to my room and was actually impressed w/ the seemingly new furniture and TV. There was somewhat of a stinch in the room...I later realized was the carpet. Overall, the room was nice. The hotel was three blocks from the #7 train, Queens Plaza station which landed you in Manhattan in 10 minutes. Breakfast (minimum) is offered in the a.m. and if you drive, there is pleny of street parking avail. The area was surprisingly quiet. Not bad for a NY hotel.

Good location for the price

The hotel was nice, clean and very close to Manhattan (by subway) and main tourist attractions. The staff were friendly. Need a bigger dinning area.
